Chapter 10
The guests were too surprised to respond, merely clicking their tongues in disbelief.
“Did I just hear that correctly? Transplanting a frozen liver and dousing ashes with cat urine? That’s not normal behavior.”
“This goes beyond ridiculous. It’s more than just rumors. This is pure murder.
“Yes, it is murder,” I agreed with the guest. “I’ve already contacted the police.”
Eric calmed down and whispered gently, “Maddie, are you so upset that you’re imagining things? Grandma was always so kind to me. How could I do something like that?”
I echoed his words, “Yes, how could you do something like that?”
A slight trace of satisfaction appeared on Eric’s face.
“Maddie, you still believe in me, don’t you?“”
I looked up and sneered, “Oh, I believe you. I believe you murdered my grandmother!
“Before you rush to deny it, remember the day of her funeral? Jessica’s car got hit, and you left me, saying there was an urgent matter at work, rushing off in a hurry.
“I arranged for her car to be hit intentionally.
“I deliberately distracted you to gain time for Grandma’s autopsy. The

was a frozen liver!”
The large screen displayed an image of Grandma’s open abdomen, revealing the liver, which had turned a deep purple.
The crowd gasped collectively in shock.
Eric’s face went from shock to panic, then finally to a state of calm.
“Maddie, it was Dr. Basom who did the surgery. He must have replaced Grandma’s transplant liver for his own gain–an act of complete moral bankruptcy.
“No wonder he moved to Italy with his family a few days ago. He must have been escaping justice.
“Maddie, let’s go to the police together. Regardless of where he is, I’ll track him down and ensure Grandma gets justice.”
His boldness made me laugh out of anger. Even now, he was trying to deflect blame.
“There’s no need to look for him. The police have already brought him in.”
Howard stepped forward, shaking, while Eric’s complexion turned pale.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Sullivan. Ms. Panutonn already had the proof. If I kept covering for you, I’d be destroying my children’s future. I confessed everything.”
Eric burst into sudden, wild laughter.
“Dr. Basom, I’ve never done you any harm. Why set me up? You claim I instructed you. Where’s your evidence?”
A plainclothes officer stepped forward, holding a phone.
