Chapter99
“It’s not just me.”
Nancy pointed in the direction of the kitchen and winked at
her. “And Alan. He came to help this afternoon.”All three of
them graduated from Asrark University. When Nancy first
entered the law firm, Lottie introduced her to Alan.
In the words of Nancy, anyone who was human would be her
potential client.
Not to mention Alan, who had a family background, was
naturally a big client.
After a while, they became familiar with each other.
Lottie was a little surprised. “No wonder he didn’t go to the
laboratory today”
“Of course. Senior, you know your priorities.“Nancy’s words
had a hidden meaning.
Lottie gave her a sideways glance. “Cut it out. Don’t randomly
matchmake.”
Mathis family was out of her league, but so was Livingston.
Group.
Alan had maintained a good relationship with her over the
years.
It was neither too far nor too close.
Lottie liked this kind of relationship. It was just right.”Lottie,”
Alan happened to come out of the kitchen with the dishes. He was wearing an apron and looked like a handsome big brother next door. “I heard from Nancy that you’ve gotten a divorce
certificate. Congratulations.”
Lottie smiled and took the food from him. “Thank you, Brother
Alan.”
She had always known that Alan was a good cook.
The two of them sometimes went to the teacher’s house. As a
junior, Alan often cooked personally.
There were six dishes and a soup on the table. Every dish
looked, smelled, and tasted good.
Nancy even specially prepared a bottle of red wine and poured
it for them. He raised his red lips and said, “Cheers! I wish us,
Lottie, freedom and high spirits from now on and better become
ourselves!”
Lottie could not stand such emotional tricks the most.It took her
a long time to hold back her tears. She clinked glasses with
them. “Okay, wish me freedom.”
Freedom.
When she was young, she wanted to be free even in her dreams.
She had already eaten at the restaurant, but she still ate a lot of
food.
It was probably the feeling of freedom now. It was too good.
After eating and drinking to their heart’s content, Alan wanted
to help them clean up the mess.Lottie refused. “Brother Alan, it’s
already troublesome enough for you to cook. Let us clean the
rest. I’ll send you downstairs first.”
“Sure.”
Alan did not stand on ceremony with her.
He had expected to drink today, so he didn’t drive, lest he had to
call a designated driver.
Lottie did not drink much tonight, but every step he took was
still a little light–headed.
She tried her best to walk steadily as she sent Alan to the
entrance of the district. It was not the first time that Alan knew
that her alcohol tolerance was poor. Fortunately, security was
not a problem in such a high–end building. He slowed down his footsteps and looked down at the girl beside him. “I’ll wait for
the car myself. Why don’t you go up and rest first?”
“Well…”
Lottie shook his head in disapproval and walked to the side of
the road stubbornly. “No, I have to be polite.”
The girl’s delicate skin was stained red by the alcohol. Even the
corners of her eyes, which were looking up at him, were red.
Alan’s heart skipped a beat unconsciously. He was even a little
dazed.
“Excuse me!“An electric car sped past. Just as it was about to hit
Lottie, Lottie, before he could react, he was suddenly pulled to
his side by Alan.
Lottie was stunned. Even though he had drunk too much, his
first reaction was to stabilize himself. He raised his head and
smiled at the person beside him. “Thank you, Brother Alan.”
“Master, that person just now was Miss, right?”
At the interse
Cornell was very sharp–eyed.
Lewis looked up and looked in the direction he was talking about through the rearview mirror. His well–defined side profile was hidden in the shadows. It was difficult to tell if he was happy or angry, but he had a strong sense of aggression.
Facing him, even a smile was filled with mockery. In front of others, she was so obedient that it was blinding.
The man narrowed his long and narrow eyes and said coldly,
“Turn around and go back.”
“Sure thing.”
Cornell agreed very quickly.
In the middle of the night, the road was very smooth. After a
while, the ride–hailing service arrived.
Before Alan got into the car, he looked at the girl beside him.
gently. His movements slowed down, and he straightened her
scarf like a big brother. “Lottie, I also wish you a free and smooth
life in the future.““Okay.”
