Chapter148
Alarieka’s eyes trembled.
She didn’t know what Kieran said next, either.
So much happened during that time, she almost forgot about
the baby in Roschelle’s belly.
She closed her eyes, listening to Kieran’s voice with a bit of
gentleness.
“Yeah, I went back soon.”
Roschelle seemed to have said something funny, and Kieran
gave a slight smile.
“Okay!”
All right.
Alarieka sat in the car, watching Kieran open the car door and
get out, walk over to the fruit shelf in the 24–hour convenience
store, and look down, carefully picking out fruit.
Alarieka looked away, her eyes accidentally landing on the little
figurine in front of her.
Chapter 148
That was Kate the cat.
Such a pinkish figure looked especially out of place in the whole
serious, dark train car.
Didn’t even have to think to know who put it here.
Alarieka turned her head, and still spotted the standout Kieran
right away.
There was a moment when she also felt like she was actually
the evil supporting character in Kieran and Roschelle’s novel,
just a clown who only existed to mess up the main couple’s
relationship.
In that moment, she also wasn’t confident and really felt
insecure.
Even if she lived her life over again, it seemed like nothing
really changed for her, and Kieran and Roschelle were still just
as happy as they were in the last life.
She turned her head to look at the file bag on the back seat.
She kind of guessed what this file was.
She took it with her amazing hands and pulled out the
documents inside.
Chapter148
It was exactly the equity transfer agreement.
What happened in the last life would still happen in this life.
Kieran gave Roschelle 5 percent of the shares in Kierose Group.
This was kind of a reward for Roschelle’s hard work during
pregnancy.
After Roschelle had her only child, Kieran then transferred five
percent of the shares, and also the Argent Group five percent of
the shares.
Alarieka put the file bag back and grabbed her knees with both
hands.
The things lots of people dreamed of, Roschelle already had
early on–family background, looks, education, job, admirers, she
had them all, plus love from her partner and her partner’s
family.
All the paths in her life perfectly fit the strong female lead
image in people’s eyes.
It was amazing.
She was really God’s favorite.
It wasn’t just a few people who said this, there were a lot of
Chapter148
people–friends or fans–who called Roschelle a big female lead.
Rarely, a feeling of jealousy grew in Alarieka’s heart.
She got jealous too, and she felt unwilling too.
She was born ordinary. Her dad was the driver for the Argent
family, and her mom was their maid. If it wasn’t for her dad, she
probably would never have gotten close to Kieran and
Roschelle’s class.
Even just getting close to it, it was something her dad traded his
life for.
What her dad traded his life for still couldn’t really get her into
their circle.
She never had any bad intentions, always did the right thing,
and never did anything wrong.
So she didn’t get why someone like Roschelle, who hurt others
and herself, could also have a good start and a good ending.
And her daughter’s car accident was all caused by Roschelle.
There really wasn’t any karma.
Alarieka felt a sharp pain on the tip of her heart, almost making
her face go pale and her body tremble.
Chapter148
The moment Kieran came back and opened the door, Alarieka
took a deep breath.
To keep Kieran from noticing something was wrong, she turned
her head to the window and slowly calmed herself down.
After she calmed down, she turned and glanced at the fruit
Kieran had left on the back seat.
They were all some sour fruits, probably for Roschelle to eat to
help with her morning sickness.
For the rest of the trip, Kieran drove fast, like he was in a hurry.
Alarieka knew where his eagerness came from, but she didn’t
mind, because she wanted to go back as soon as possible too.
Kieran parked the car downstairs at the rental place, and
Alarieka got out right away, moving really fast.
So she didn’t notice that behind her, Kieran didn’t start the car
right away, but took another call instead.
It was the assistant who called.
“Mr. Argent, I already contacted the organizers of the Mcintosh
Piano Competition. The organizers already agreed to add one
more spot, but we needed to confirm as soon as possible because
Chapter148
they were about to announce the contestants.”
Kieran’s eyes paused.
He turned his head, glanced in the direction Alarieka left, and
said in a low voice, “No need.”
