Chapter 10 Officially Married
Erwina didn’t breathe easy until she hopped onto the aircraft
and left the central tower far behind.
But she still felt a chill down her spine, her legs turned to jelly,
and her back ached.
The whole ordeal of being an exclusive suppressant hadn’t been
a walk in the park, especially given Gus‘ impressive build.
Still, she had no regrets.
She genuinely liked Gus, who had been such a huge help to her.
They were husband and wife now, and being his exclusive
suppressant wasn’t a problem for her.
But she never imagined he’d turn out to be the Top Commander!
The Top Commander… Wait, wasn’t that cold, silver–masked
war hero?
How could that possibly be Gus?
Their vibes were completely different!

She forced herself to calm down quickly and called Elaine’s
starphone. It took a while for Elaine to pick up, and before she
could even speak, Elaine began to sob on the other end.
“Wina, I want a divorce from your dad!”
“What? Why?”
“He slapped me! And he’s always siding with Megan! I asked him
if Megan was his daughter, and he didn’t even deny it! Then he
got mad and slapped me!”
From Elaine’s starphone, Erwina could hear Harry trying to
soothe her, saying something like, “Mom, don’t be upset. It’s
gotta be a misunderstanding. You slapped Dad too.”
She rubbed her throbbing temples and let out a soft sigh. What
a mess!
After crying for a bit, Elaine remembered the exclusive
suppressant.
She quickly said, “Wina, where are you now? I’m so sorry I
forgot about the exclusive suppressant. I’ll bring it to you right
away!”

“It’s okay. I’m almost home. Let’s talk about it when I get there.”
Erwina hung up the call with a heavy heart. She covered her face with both hands and sat in silence for a long moment before she said, “Ayla, look it up. How many years does one get
for marriage fraud in our empire?”
“30 years. But this doesn’t count as marriage fraud. He agreed at
the time.”
“Werebeasts in their rut might forget what they’ve done or
said…” Erwina’s eyes suddenly lit up. “So that means he might
forget who helped him through the rut, right?”
“Technically, yes, but don’t forget that you two are officially
married. His Smart PC even called you Mrs. Mullen.””
So, even if Gus forgot who was there for him, he wouldn’t forget
who he married.
“Oh no! I screwed up!
“Whatever, life isn’t worth living like this! I might as well end it
all!”
Half an hour after Erwina left the central tower, the door to the
lounge slowly opened. Gustav, now in a dark blue military
uniform, walked out with a stern expression, fastening the

His aide said, “Commander Mullen, His Majesty is urgently
requesting your presence. Please come back with us to see him
first.”
Gustav looked down a bit, glanced back at the lounge, and gave
a slight nod.

The Schrader family was in the restaurant business, with
branches of the Schrader Restaurant open in the Middle and
Upper Three Districts.
These days, fresh food was becoming harder and harder to find.
Only the rich could afford real cooked meals, while the poor had
to make do with nutrient solutions to survive.
Erwina was curled up on the couch. Next to her, Elaine had
forgotten her own troubles, her face etched with worry.

wears a mask?”
“His starphone said so. I doubt it would lie.”

Erwina buried her face in a pillow. “How would I know? I
randomly picked up a Werebeast, and he turned out to be the Top Commander!”
