Chapter 12 It’s His Majesty
If Falcon had a physical form, its mouth would probably twitch
right now. Fortunately, it didn’t.
Falcon asked, “Commander Mullen, how may I help?”
Gustav asked, “Was it you who approved my marriage
application last night?”
“It was … His Majesty who wanted me to approve it,” Falcon
answered.
Leland, who was sipping coffee, spat it out right away. Alvin
immediately handed him a handkerchief with its mechanical
arm.
Wiping the coffee stain from his lips, Leland said, his tone
dangerous, “Falcon, what are you talking about?”
Falcon replied, “Last night, I received the marriage application
from Commander Mullen and a woman who will turn twenty
soon. I submitted a request for your decision, and you asked
Alvin to inform me to follow the rules. According to the rules,
Commander Mullen and the woman meet the marriage
requirements, so I approved it.”

It passed the buck so skillfully that Leland was left totally
speechless.
Leland turned to look at Gustav at once. “Gustav, I was worried
sick because you were missing. I had no idea it was your
application…
But Gustav didn’t seem bothered. Picking up the coffee handed
by the mechanical arm, he took a sip and said, “Neither did I.”
During rut, Werebeasts would regress to their childhood
mentality, and they’d feel least secure.
Gustav’s exclusive suppressant had been destroyed in the
aircraft crash.
Then he had happened to see the wedding photo on the
billboard. The sight of the girl in the pristine white wedding
dress left him in a daze momentarily.
Before he realized it, he had already arrived at the wedding
scene.
What happened after that was all just a blur to him.
He tapped the armrest of the sofa rhythmically with his slender,
fair finger. The study was so quiet that Alvin didn’t dare to
move its mechanical arms for fear of making a sound.

After quite a while, Leland cleared his throat. “Gustav, it was my
fault. I’ll have Falcon annul your marriage right away. Then I’ll
explain it to the girl…”
“No need.”
Leland was stunned. “Huh?”
Just then, Gustav’s starphone rang. His adjutant reported signs
of interstellar bandits in District III.
“OK. I’m on my way, Gustav said.
Then he stood up, picked up his dark blue hat, nodded at Leland,
and walked out.
Watching his retreating figure, Leland said to Alvin, “Send me
everything you have about that girl”
Falcon said, “Your Majesty, I’m still here. I’ve got the most
comprehensive file. Why not ask me?”
Leland sneered, “Oh, thanks for the reminder. I’m glad to know
you’re still here.”
After a moment of silence, Falcon said, “Your Majesty, given
your noble status, it’s inappropriate for you to abuse your
power for personal vendettas. Also, I think Commander Mullen

is pretty satisfied with his wife.”
“Oh?”
Physically, Gustav was already forty.
He had hidden his face with a mask over the years, never
thinking of getting married.
Leland was already a father, but Gustav remained single.
He had suggested to Gustav several times to find a suitable
partner, but Gustav’s answer was always the same.
Finally, Gustav had a change of mind?
Leland said, “Falcon, get me everything about Erwina. I mean
everything!”
“Sure, Your Majesty.”

Eventually, Erwina didn’t text Gustav anything.
What should she say anyway?
Whatever she said seemed wrong, so she might as well stay
silent.

She’d deal with any consequence. Worst case scenario, she’d get
a divorce.
