Chapter 11 Feeling Shy
Elaine thought that was way more serious than her divorce!
She asked nervously, “Did he say anything to you? When he came to his senses after his rut, did he blow up at you?”
“No. I woke up first and bolted.”
The two stared at each other in silence for a good while before
Erwina suddenly leaped up from the couch.
“Whatever, it’s do or die. I’ll just reach out to him. Apologize if I need to and try to make it up to him in any way I can. If he
wants a divorce right away, so be it.”
Sure, that handsome guy was a hard one to give up.
But as good–looking as he was, her life mattered more!
Besides, she didn’t want to bring more trouble to her family.
Even if she already had, she had to try and fix it.
Elaine was at her wit’s end. She said, “Why don’t you try sending
a message to that big shot and explain things nicely?”
“Okay!”
Chapter 11 Feeling Shy
Erwina and Gustav hadn’t friended each other on their
starphones, but their marriage made their connection way stronger than any friendship. It was a bond that couldn’t be
severed without a divorce.
She took a deep breath and started typing out a message to
Gustav.
She thought, “Should I just say, ‘Sorry, I shouldn’t have dragged
you into this marriage‘?
“No, that’s way too abrupt. It wouldn’t do!
“Or maybe, I didn’t mean to help you out, but you looked
miserable during your rut.
‘No, that’s even worse. Knowing how a big shot looks when
they’re vulnerable? That’s a sure way to get myself silenced!”
Meanwhile, Victor stared at the chat box, which kept showing
“Typing…”
It chirped excitedly, “Mrs. Mullen is texting you! She has been at
it for ages. Looks like she’s about to send you a long message!”
Sitting in the aircraft, Gustav pulled up the chat box.
His face looked like Gus‘, but his vibe had totally changed.
Chapter 11 Feeling Shy
His lips were pressed together, and his eyes were cold and sharp.
Even without his usual mask, no one dared to mess with him.
He glanced at the chat box, but Erwina had stopped typing.
In the end, she hadn’t even sent so much as a single punctuation
mark.
Victor muttered, “Maybe Mrs. Mullen is feeling shy!”
Gustav lowered his eyes slightly, concealing the coldness in his
gaze. “I wanna see His Majesty in ten minutes.”
“Got it!”
Since they were still a bit away from District I, Victor didn’t dare
to slack off and focused on piloting the aircraft straight to the
Royal Palace.
After 9 minutes and 50 seconds, the aircraft landed smoothly.
Gustav walked into the palace with a calm, steady gait, drawing
shocked gazes from those around him.
The Top Commander wasn’t wearing his mask!
Even Leland was visibly surprised the moment he saw Gustav.
But more than anything, he was worried about Gustav.
Chapter 11 Feeling Shy
“Are you okay? What the hell happened?”
“I led a team to wipe out the Zerg near the starfield. On the way
back, our medic got infected, triggering a riot that caused the
aircraft to crash. But we managed to destroy all the eggs before
the aircraft went down,” Gustav said, his voice flat.
But Leland knew the whole thing must’ve been pretty crazy.
He nodded. “Whatever happened, I’m glad you’re safe. Your
rut…”
He had heard from his aide that Gustav was found in a bridal
chamber. Apparently, two noble families were holding a
wedding, and Gustav was in the middle of his rut.
As his nephew, Leland couldn’t help being a little curious.
Gustav, however, didn’t bat an eye. “Patch me through to
Falcon.”
“Sure thing.”
Falcon, who got the call out of the blue, sounded all business.
“Your Majesty, what can I do for you?”
“Gustav wants to talk to you.”
Falcon was taken aback.
