Audrey had no idea.
It was just like any other day, and no one knew this was her farewell.
Tessa placed her belongings in a safe spot.
Once she made the decision to leave, she wouldn’t leave anything behind.
When she returned home, it was already evening.
Ryan immediately brought the wedding dresses he had personally chosen for her and placed them
before her.
“The mate ceremony only happens once. You can’t settle for anything less!”
“Pick the one you like!”
Tessa stared at the neatly arranged white wedding gowns, lost in thought for a moment.
When she turned her gaze back to Ryan, her eyes were unwittingly filled with tears.
She realized how easy it was to fake love.
What exactly was it that he loved?
He casually picked up a dress and handed it to her.
“This one’s perfect for you! Go try it on!”
Tessa didn’t refuse. Even though these dresses couldn’t compare to the one she had designed
herself.
When she came out in the second dress, she noticed he had answered a call.
“Do you need me to come meet you now? I’m with Tessa, trying on dresses.”
“Alright, I’ll be right there.”
His voice was barely a whisper, hiding in the corner.
But Tessa heard it clearly.
After hanging up, he smiled and wrapped his arms around her.
“Babe, you’d look great in anything.”
“The pack needs me for something, so I might not be able to go with you. Choose whichever dress

Tessa knew this was just an excuse. He was simply going to meet Chloe and go shopping with her.
She didn’t ask any more questions, only nodded in agreement.
Once he left, Tessa called the maid over. Looking at the dresses, her voice was cold.
“Burn them all.”
“All of them. I don’t want a single one left.”
Though the maid had questions, she didn’t dare to ask and simply did as she was told.
Watching the white gowns go up in flames, Tessa felt as though she was burning away not just the
dresses, but two years of her affection.
Her heart was filled with a raging fire, as if it would break through the world’s norms.
That night, she saw Chloe’s post on Instagram, showcasing the new bag and expensive gifts Ryan
had bought her.
Seeing the pictures, Tessa couldn’t help but let out a light, mocking smile.
She had already planned her gift for them–a bracelet she had personally designed.
It was originally meant for the mating ceremony, but now, there was no need for it.
Since Chloe loved her things so much, Tessa decided she would give them everything.
On the day she left, that would be the day they received her gift.
She would wish them happiness and joy.
When Ryan came back later that evening, he remembered to bring her favorite donuts.
“I saw some donuts on my way back, so I got you some.”
Tessa paused for a moment. She remembered she loved donuts, but ever since childhood, Chloe always competed with her for everything. If Tessa liked something, Chloe liked it too.
Tessa’s face turned cold, her expression unreadable.
“No, I don’t want them.”
Ryan thought Tessa was still upset about earlier, so he immediately hugged her from behind.
“Babe, I really had something to do today. I didn’t mean to leave you alone.”

“Besides, you look beautiful in anything, so I’m not worried.”
Now, those words had no credibility in Tessa’s heart.
She remembered the things Ryan had said to Chloe.
Thinking about it made her feel disgusted.
She gently pushed him away, her face emotionless as she replied,
“It’s fine.”
Ryan smiled, thinking she was still understanding and obedient, as always.
He slowly took her hand, looking at her with deep affection, his tone soft.
“Our mating ceremony is the day after tomorrow.”
“The pack doctor has scheduled a check–up for us. I’ll be with you tomorrow, all day.”
