Chapter 60
“After that, I followed the treatment plan and took medication for a full month. During the Thanksgiving break, my hormones finally balanced out. With proper meals and intense workouts, my weight dropped fast over those ten days. And what you thought was morning sickness? It was just my overly sensitive sense of taste. I’ve never been able to stand anything with a fishy smell.”
At those words, my roommates scratched their heads awkwardly.
“So that’s what it was… Kelsey, we’re sorry. We really misunderstood you.”
I glanced at them, calm and cold.
“Next time, think before you speak. Don’t follow the crowd unless you have real evidence. Rumors can kill.“” The students who had thrown insults earlier hung their heads in shame, their voices low.
“Kelsey, we’re sorry.”

I bent down, picked up the scattered photos that the Black girl had thrown, and then handed them to the police. “Officer, could you please verify these? I don’t even know the man in these ima has caused real damage to my name.”
The officer studied the photos carefully. A few minutes later, he looked up at the crowd.
These are fake. They’ve been altered, composited, and photoshopped.“\
He turned toward the Black girl.”
“Come with us. We need you to cooperate with our investigation.”
After she was escorted into the police car, another officer approached me.
Patapupu-
“Kelsey, this case has too many suspicious points. Would you be willing to come with us to assist with the investigation?“}
I nodded and silently stepped into the back of the police car.
That night, they conducted another DNA test between me and the Black infant.}
This time, the result came back clear; there was no parent–child relationship.
The forensic specialist frowned, visibly puzzled.
“Could there be an issue with our testing equipment?“}
Technicians were immediately dispatched to inspect it. After a thorough check, everything was confirmed to be in perfect working order.
Everyone fell silent, stunned.”
If the equipment was fine, how could two DNA results say completely different things?

Suddenly, a thought crossed my mind. I looked up and asked carefully, “Officer, do you know anything about Pine Ridge Hexseed?”
The police turned toward me at once. “Kelsey, do you know something?“}
I paused, then spoke slowly. “I read about it once in a strange, old book. It said the Hexseed from Pine Ridge is unpredictable; some are even dangerous. I remember one called the ‘Transfer Hexseed.‘ It said it can pass certain effects from a main Hexseed to a sub–Hexseed. So, could there be one that temporarily changes blood relations?”
The room fell silent.”
I sighed. I knew how ridiculous it sounded. If I hadn’t been reborn, I wouldn’t have believed it either.\
Then, a female officer looked at me and spoke.”
“This kind of Hexseed does exist, but it’s a forbidden type. The Pine Ridge tribes have banned its use.”
My eyes widened. I hadn’t expected anyone to actually believe something so bizarre.”
The lead officer turned to me and spoke calmly, “Kelsey, you may share everything you suspect. This officer beside you is no ordinary member, she’s the Saintess of Pine Ridge.“”
I stared at them in shock, my mouth slightly open.”
“There really is a Saintess from Pine Ridge in the real world?”
Then the truth hit me like a wave: Aimee had to be a fake.
I told them about the flower tea Aimee had handed out before, claiming it was from Pine Ridge.
The female officer suddenly stepped forward and extended her hand. “Miss Kelsey, may I examine your body?”
I gave a silent nod.
She made a small cut on my wrist, then turned the blade and made another on her own.
