“Jasmine, did you see that? Adrian loves me! If I were you, I’d leave him,” Rosalie said provocatively, holding up her phone.“I just lied and said you had someone attack me, and look how frantic he is.”

Jasmine paused, her dead heart still aching slightly. She turned back, suppressing her emotions.“Without Adrian, I’m still a Shaw. Even if you become Mrs. Thorne, you have no right to lord it over me. Rosalie, it’s not you who drove me away; I just don’t want Adrian anymore.”
“Jasmine Rosalie’s eyes burned with rage. She glared at Jasmine’s back.“You’ll regret this!”
Jasmine ignored her, going straight to her parents‘ graves to bid them farewell.
She told her parents everything that had happened in the past five years, her demeanor unusually calm, without shedding a single tear. “Mom and Dad, I no longer love Adrian. Don’t worry about me. I’ll take care of myself.”
As twilight descended, she reluctantly left the cemetery.
Adrian hadn’t appeared, hadn’t called.
The cemetery was remote, requiring a walk along a small path to hail a cab. After bidding farewell to her parents, Jasmine walked slowly toward the main road.

“Who are you? Why did you kidnap me?” Jasmine cried out, a wave of terror washing over her. She felt utterly terrified.
“Speak! Who are you?”
“Do you want money? I have money, lots

Jasmine could see nothing. No matter how she questioned them, she received only silence.
Her clothes were soaked through. The wind brought a piercing chill, increasing her panic. She struggled restlessly.
“Let me go! Who are you?”
“Ahh!” Jasmine cried out in pain as someone struck her lower abdomen with a stick.
“You don’t need to know who I am. You just need to pay the price for your actions.” The person raised the stick and struck her abdomen again. She felt her insides crush together, the pain causing her to cry out.
“I don’t understand what you’re saying.”
The
person stopped speaking, swinging the stick repeatedly at her abdomen, each blow with full force, as if intending to shatter her insides. She passed out from pain, only to be jolted awake again by the agony.
By the end, she was numb with pain. The blood from her lower body soaked through her trousers, the blood from her mouth staining her clothes…
The attacker seemed tired, dropping the stick and unbinding her. She collapsed like a crumpled rag, blood spreading quickly across the ground.
She fell into unconsciousness.
When she awoke again, she was alone. She removed the blindfold, seeing a projector in front of her.

On the screen, Adrian was holding Rosalie, repeatedly kissing her forehead, comforting her.“Don’t cry, darling. It’s going to be alright.” Jasmine is such a good person. Why would she hurt me just because I “Adrian, I don’t believe it. I don’t believe Jasmine tried to hurt me. accidentally knocked her over?” Rosalie cried, tears streaming down her face.
“Perhaps, people change,” Adrian said, a hint of pain in his eyes.“The facts are there. Jasmine hired someone to attack you. If you hadn’t called the police in time, the consequences would have been unimaginable.”
“Even so, you shouldn’t have retaliated, shouldn’t have hurt Jasmine.”
“It’s too late for that now. Don’t worry. I just taught those who hurt you a lesson. As for Jasmine, I’ll find a way to warn her.”
Adrian’s eyes were filled with disappointment. He had concluded Jasmine had hired someone to harm Rosalie.
Jasmine lay on the ground, convulsing in pain. She stared fixedly at the faces on the screen, her heart feeling ripped from her body, raw and bleeding
Adrian, who had once implicitly trusted her, now, because of Rosalie’s false accusation, had allowed her to be brutally attacked.
Her heart had changed; everything had changed.
She laughed, tears streaming down her face.
Adrian, if you ever learn the truth, will you regret it?
