On their anniversary, at the stroke of midnight, Adrian posted a heartfelt message on social media, expressing his love and gratitude to Jasmine. Within hours, the post garnered over ten million likes and shares. Videos of their relationship, personally edited by Adrian, were displayed on large screens across the city, showcasing his love for her.
At some point, a crowd gathered outside their villa. They had covered the pathway with 1825 roses, a massive hollow crystal ring at the center. Inside the ring were the latest designer clothes and bags, topped with a small music box playing Adrian’s voice on repeat:“My dear wife Jasmine, happy anniversary. I will spend my entire life loving you.”
Jasmine listened to Adrian say the same words he had used in their wedding vows, but her mood was far from the happiness she had felt on their wedding day.
She remained expressionless, shutting the door and burying herself under the covers, as if it were none of her concern.
Moments later, Adrian called. His voice was laced with guilt.“Sorry, baby, something unexpected came up. The business partner had some sudden issues. I can’t be home for our anniversary. I promise to make it
to you up
when I back.”

Hearing his clumsy lie, Jasmine laughed, a trembling sound.“Nevermind, you’re always busy.”
“Upset?” Adrian said, acutely aware of her change in tone.“Cheer up, okay? I’ve planned so many surprises. I don’t want my princess to feel sad while experiencing my surprises.

put on an aerial display, forming various shapes to express his love for Jasmine.
Reporters arrived to interview Jasmine, to further publicize their love story.
Jasmine ignored them. Her phone continued to ring.
Seeing Adrian’s name on the screen, her vision blurred again. She wanted to call him, to demand why he’d broken his promises, why he’d fallen in love with another woman.
In the end, she silently turned off her phone
d buried her face in the pillow.
After an indeterminate time, the covers were suddenly thrown back, a bright light flooding the room and stinging Jasmine’s eyes.
Silhouetted against the light, she saw a haggard Adrian. His hair was disheveled, his face pale, his eyes filled with worry and fear. He’d rushed home the moment he sensed her unhappiness, calling her repeatedly to no avail. He’d been terrified.
Seeing Jasmine, he pulled her into a tight embrace, his voice hoarse with emotion.“Thank god! You’re home! My Jasmine, I’m so sorry. I really
am.”
Adrian’s eyes were red, his body trembling uncontrollably. “I’ll never leave you alone again. Do you know? When I called and you didn’t answer, I was really worried about you… I even thought…thank god you’re fine.”
“Nothing is more important than you. I’m back to spend our anniversary with you.”
Jasmine remained silent. Adrian, mistaking her silence for anger, knelt down, pleading, “Jasmine, promise me you won’t ignore my calls or shut me out. If you do, I’ll be in so much pain. I’m serious.”
His nervousness and fear seemed genuine. He loved her, but his love wasn’t singular.
“You got back pretty quickly, Jasmine said, her lips twisting into a wry smile. Adrian’s face changed slightly, a flicker of guilt in his eyes. “Babe, you haven’t eaten all day, have you? I’ll take you to the revolving restaurant,” Adrian changed the subject, gently smoothing her stray hair.
“No, I’m good.” Jasmine shook her head.
Adrian’s heart pounded. “Then rest for a while. I’ll go downstairs and make something.”
“Mm, Jasmine nodded coldly, turning her back to him.
He assumed she was still angry, taking a deep breath before leaving the room.

Fifteen minutes later, a commotion came from downstairs.
Jasmine went downstairs to find Adrian’s friends in the living room, helping to rehang the freshly washed photos.
Seeing Jasmine, they spoke up for Adrian.
“Jasmine, you scared Adrian to shit his pants! I’ve never seen him this nervous.”
“Next time you’re angry, please tell us. We’ll help you vent. Don’t throw away photos again, or turn off your phone. Adrian will die.”
If he couldn’t find you, he’d go crazy.”
“Yeah, seeing the empty walls made him faint. He even started digging through the trash.”

“Shut up!” Adrian said, walking out of the kitchen in an apron, his face flushed with anger.“It’s my fault. I upset my wife, and she has to punish me.”

“Adrian is such a devoted husband. He’d sacrifice anything for Jasmine. She’s so lucky,” Rosalie said, walking out of the crowd, a look of envy on her face.
Adrian’s expression remained unchanged, a gentle smile on his face.“My wife, of course I’ll spoil her.”
A chill ran down Jasmine’s spine; he seemed SO hypocritical.
But she chose not to expose him.
Jasmine said calmly, “No need to hang the photos. I want to repaint the walls.”
Adrian walked up to Jasmine, putting his arm around her waist.“At your command, Your Highness.”
“Adrian is such a wife–obsessed man,” some
teased, but Adrian didn’t react.
He guided Jasmine to the sofa and returned to the kitchen.
Adrian made all of Jasmine’s favorite dishes, but they tasted like ashes in her mouth.
One of his hands lovingly served her food, while the other was intertwined with Rosalie’s under the table.
Jasmine suddenly felt completely disinterested. S
couldn’t wait to leave, to leave Adrian.
After dinner, without giving Jasmine a chance to refuse, Adrian bent down to put on her shoes and socks, carrying her out, his friends cheering
him on.
Rosalie also joked, but Jasmine clearly saw a flash of resentment and jealousy in her eyes.
Adrian had arranged a fireworks display at sea for Jasmine, and hired her favorite band to perform.
Midway through the performance, Adrian excused himself to the restroom.
Jasmine inexplicably followed him.
