After dealing with Emily, Alexander rushed to find me.
Eyes bloodshot, he choked out remorse, “I’m sorry, Olivia. I shouldn’t have hidden my affair with that bitch. She seduced me, I just… lost control… I’ve cut ties. Forgive me? Give me another chance-”
Before he could finish, Nathaniel suddenly stepped forward from behind and cut him off.
“Alexander, Olivia is my fiancée. Did you think you could steal her away without my permission?”
Alexander flushed crimson, jabbing a finger at Nathaniel’s face as he roared, “You Blackwood bastard! Olivia loved me first! You tricked her into getting engaged with your dirty tricks, you despicable coward! Shameless!”
“Shameless?” Nathaniel crossed his arms, scoffing contemptuously. “So you knew she loved you, didn’t you? Then why didn’t you cherish her? Why two–time her? If you hadn’t cheated on her, would she have chosen to marry me out of sheer despair?”
Struck by the truth, Alexander choked, suddenly speechless./-

“Enough!” I cut him off impatiently. “Alexander, I stopped loving you long ago! Nate is the one I love now. We’re getting married soon. Stop bothering us.”

With that, I took Nathaniel’s hand and walked away without looking back.
Throughout our walk, Nathaniel’s face remained flushed, the tips of his ears tinged crimson.
As we approached home, he stammered to stop me, “Liv, what you said earlier… was it true?”
“What true?” I asked deliberately,
“That… you said… you loved me.”
“Mhm,” I murmured softly.
Nathaniel froze, disbelief washing over his face as he cautiously asked, “Since when? You’ve hated me since childhood. That time I carelessly pushed you into the ditch while playing, causing your injury–you resented me for over a decade… All these years, you’ve never given me a kind look. How could you suddenly have feelings for me?”
I gave a bitter smile before falling silent.
I didn’t know how to explain about my previous life.
But I knew this seemingly carefree man had actually liked me silently for

over ten years.
A man willing to risk his life for me was definitely someone I could. entrust my future to.
Moments later, I flicked his forehead and teased, “Nathaniel, you accidentally hurt me as kids, making me unmarriageable. Shouldn’t you take responsibility for me for life? You can’t escape me now!”
Nathaniel firmly grasped my hand, eyes shining as he solemnly promised, “Olivia, I’ll take responsibility for you forever. I’ll always treat you well!”
“Okay.”
With my second chance at life, I’d never doubt his sincerity.
