Chapter 8
Carter scrambled to explain himself to the crowd.
“I didn’t cheat! It was Bianca who said she wanted freedom. That’s the only reason I agreed to break the mate bond! We even promised we’d rebond in a year!”
I didn’t give him a chance to keep spinning lies.
I nodded to Lucas to play the first audio recording.
It played through the hall’s high–end sound system, Carter’s voice ringing out crystal clear,
“She’s innocent. She cried, and said she was afraid of being labeled a homewrecker, and worse, that her baby would be called a bastard. Of course I couldn’t let them suffer. Once her baby’s born, we’ll rebond, okay?”
The tone in that recording–casual, almost flippant–was a jarring contrast to the sweaty, panicked Carter now standing onstage.
Reporters furiously scribbled notes. Some had already begun livestreaming the bombshell revelations to social media.
Then came the second recording: a phone call between me and Carter.
“Bianca, I saw the video. It was just a car accident. He had no beef with you. It was an accident. Why can’t you just let it go?”
At that exact moment, the main screen behind us lit up with footage of Dorian’s car hurtling toward me. The black sedan clearly accelerated, aiming directly at me as I crossed the street–no sign of braking, no hesitation.
My eyes stung again, but this time the tears weren’t fake.
“Alpha Carter,” I said, my voice trembling but resolute, “covered up a murder attempt for his mistress, Daphne, turning premeditated murder into a ‘simple traffic accident.”

“Tell me ” I looked straight into the cameras, “does this look like a simple car accident to you?”
The room exploded.
“That was clearly deliberate!” a pack member shouted angrily.
“So money really can buy anything–like letting your mistress’s brother run down your mate. Scumbag! Why not just drop dead!” another pack member growled directly at a press camera.
One of the pack elders didn’t even bother with subtlety.
“Money? We pack elders all know the truth. Carter rode to power on Luna Bianca’s weapon designs. He’s just a shameless moocher, leeching off her talent, then stabbing her in the back.. Utterly despicable!”
I stepped forward and unfolded the Forging Rights Deed in my hands.
“You’re all absolutely right. I did transfer the patent to Carter. But the deed clearly states: the moment I break the mate bond with Alpha Carter, the patent rights automatically return to me.‘
Lucas zoomed in on the specific clause and projected it across the giant screen. Phones lit up everywhere as people snapped screenshots in a frenzy.
Carter’s face was drenched in cold sweat. His Beta frantically flipped through documents, pale and panicking.
“In other words,” I continued, voice sharp, “as of the day we break the mate bond, every weapon the Bloodmoon Pack has produced using my designs has been in violation of my rights.”
The sentence dropped like a bomb.
The entire banquet hall erupted.
Everyone was utterly stunned, and the room buzzed with waves of murmurs and heated discussions.

“Oh my god! And we thought he was richer than the Alpha king. It turns out he’s been leeching off her the whole time!”
“And the most important is he even cheated on top of that. Living off his mate’s success while screwing his Beta behind her back!”
“I feel suffocated just imagining what Luna Bianca went through.”
Then came the final blow.
The Lycan king stood up, his face stone cold.
“Alpha Carter,” he said through gritted teeth, “do you realize the risks I took partnering with you? And yet you’ve proven yourself unfaithful to your mate and to your allies.”
He turned, eyes burning, voice cold.
“If you can’t deliver the promised product within the contractual timeframe, I’ll see you in the Pack High Court.”
With that, he turned and stormed out, his fellow Lycans close behind.
With everything was unraveling, Carter panicked.
He grabbed my arm, desperation flooding his voice like I’d never heard before.
“Bianca, it was Daphne seduced me, you know that! She kept saying how well–endowed I was, flattering me nonstop. She got in my head and I finally lost control. ”
