Chapter 3
My eyes burned, but I tilted my head up, forcing the tears back.
Inside, I heard Carter’s voice.
“You little minx, once I catch you, I’m going to wear you out in bed and devour every inch of you.”
Through the crack in the door, I saw Carter with a blindfold over his eyes, groping around playfully as he tried to catch Daphne.
Daphne giggled with mockery in her voice, her tone deliberately provocative.
“Bianca, if you really want it, I could let you take my place just once.”
“Even though Carter says he has no desire for you anymore, he’s blindfolded now. He probably wouldn’t notice if someone swapped in.”
I swallowed the bile rising in my throat and replied coldly, “No thanks. I don’t touch filth.”
That night, I booked a hotel nearby and stayed there alone.
The next day, a video shot to the top of the trending list on social media.
“Breaking News: Bloodmoon Pack Alpha Displays Jaw–dropping Stamina–Makes Love All Night for His Mate.”
The drone footage showed Carter pinning Daphne against the top–floor floor–to–ceiling windows, moving in rhythm with all kinds of shameless positions–his back muscles flexing, her moans echoing faintly through the glass.

Then the dean of Moonforge Hall called.
He was furious.
was me.
He accused me of not only disrespecting the award ceremony, but of also behaving indecently.
Now, thanks to the scandal, all the pack members had gathered at Moonforge Hall to vote on expelling me.
I rushed there, only to be greeted by walls plastered with intimate photos of Carter and me at different venues.
In every single image, I was naked, but Carter’s face was never shown.
The pack members of Moonforge Hall concluded that I had a chaotic sex life, offering myself to multiple men every day, unworthy of forging sacred weapons.
To calm the uproar, Moonforge Hall had no choice but to suspend me temporarily.
But the dean trusted me. He staked his own reputation as collateral and gave me time to gather evidence and hold a press conference to clear my name,
I stumbled out of Moonforge Hall in a daze.
That was when the car came barreling straight toward me.

It hit me in an instant–my body was hurled into the air. Pain tore through every inch of me like I’d been shattered into pieces.
Daphne stepped out of the driver’s seat, a faint smirk tugging at her lips.
“Old hag. Are you trying to clear your name? Then die with your disgrace.”
But the next second, she dropped to her knees, pretending to panic.

“I’m so sorry, Bianca! I just learned how to drive. I was so scared of losing Carter, so I lost focus. Please forgive me!”

Carter came running, but instead of checking on me, he wrapped his arms around Daphne.
“Don’t be scared. I’m here.”
It was only after she stopped crying that he looked in my direction.
“Daphne only did this because she loves me too much. And she’s hurt too. Just let it go.”
Then his voice softened, as if offering a reward for my silence.
“If you promise not to report this to the Alpha king, I’ll agree to rebond with you.”
I collapsed on the ground like a limp rag, coughing up a mouthful of blood.
“And why the hell should I let it go?” I croaked. “Carter, let’s break the mate bond–for real this time. I reject you.”
