Chapter 22
“I didn’t need it.”
Jenny didn’t even look back, she just grabbed Riley’s hand and was about
to leave..
Samuel, however, persisted and chased after her relentlessly.
Jenny, look, these are your mother’s belongings!”
He opened the gift box, and inside was a crystal pendant.
Jenny recognized it at a glance – it was her mother’s keepsake.
Last time, Samuel gave unlimited bidding to help Nadya snatch this pendant at the auction. Nadya even used Jenny’s desire for this pendant to make her and the beggar kneel on the ground and beg her!
Jenny knelt down, but Nadya threw the pendant into the street. Not only was Jenny hit by a car when she went to chase after the pendant, but the pendant also shattered.
After that, Jenny never found the whereabouts of the pendant. She thought it had been broken and cleaned up by the sanitation workers.
Seeing the emotion in Jenny’s eyes, Samuel showed a look of joy.
He took matters into his own hands and, taking advantage of Jenny’s distraction, put the pendant around her neck.
“Jenny, I spent a lot of effort to gather all the pieces of your mother’s
pendant. I found the best repairman in the country to fix it, and he embedded the pendant with gold.”
“Jenny, the pendant could be repaired, you could also give me another chance…”
“What opportunity?”
Jenny interrupted Samuel.
She glanced down at the pendant hanging around her neck and reached put to ask Riley, “Honey, do you have a check on you?”
“Of course, Riley handed a stack of checks and a pen to Jenny.”
Jenny neatly tore off a check, wrote down fifty million in a flowing manner, and handed it to Samuel.
“Mr. Jaures went to great lengths to find someone to repair my mother’s heirloom, and he paid five million for the repairman’s fee.”
Samuel’s smile froze on his face, while Riley on the side chuckled.
He openly put his arm around Jenny’s shoulder and tapped her nose, saying, “Darling, you’re being a bit stingy. Mr. Jaures‘ reputation is worth at least 15 million.”
Jenny felt a little less burdened when he said that.
Samuel looked embarrassed: “Jenny, you know that what I wanted wasn’t money.”
Money was the last thing he lacked. How could Jenny not know? But now, all she could give him was money, and nothing else.
Seeing that Samuel was reluctant to accept the check, she directly threw it in Samuel’s face, saying, “My husband’s money doesn’t just fall from the

sky. I’m only offering five million, take it or leave it.”
If someone had provoked Samuel like this in normal times, he would have been dragged to the Chicago River long ago.
But now, Samuel had no temper at all. His eyes were red as he grabbed Jenny’s hand among the fluttering checks.
The voice pleaded, “Jenny, don’t go.”
He used to think that Jenny would always follow him, even if he “died“, Jenny would stay at the Jaures family and spend the rest of her life by his
tombstone.
But now, I can only watch as she walks step by step into the arms of another man.
“Let me go!”
Jenny couldn’t break free.
Samuel’s eyes were red, tightly gripping without letting go. He had a faint feeling that if he let go, he might never be able to get close to her again in his lifetime.
“Damn it! Was I dead?”
On the side, Riley cursed and swung a fist towards Samuel’s face.
Samuel’s nose started gushing blood, and he staggered, letting go of Jenny’s hand.
Riley, who had just hit someone, instantly suppressed his aggressiveness. He held both of Jenny’s hands in his arms and pretended to be weak as he threw himself into Jenny’s arms, saying, “Darling, I’m feeling dizzy. Please take me to the hospital!”
Chapter 22
Jenny couldn’t help but laugh again.
Riley always managed to make her laugh when she was feeling
particularly down, thankfully she didn’t have to worry about Samuel’s face. across from her.
“Okay, I’ll take you to the hospital now, bring me the car keys!”
Jenny reached out and the Rolls Royce car key fell into her palm.
Riley seemed to have lost his bones and was hanging on her: “Darling, you are so good…”
Riley was inexplicably happy, simply because Jenny, when faced with Samuel and him, firmly chose to stand by his side.
Jenny didn’t know what Riley was thinking, she just felt an
unprecedented sense of ease in her heart. She handed over the car keys and was with Riley, as if it didn’t matter which direction they were heading…
In the rearview mirror, Samuel was still chasing with red eyes.
Jenny gave a quick glance in his direction, completely throwing his figure out of sight.
