Chapter 14
Jenny sneered, “My husband is dead, I’m not going to remarry. Do I still have to observe a three–year mourning period?”
“I didn’t die! I didn’t die!”
Samuel shouted at Jenny and banged on the iron door of the cell.
sound of footsteps rang out.
Riley walked in quickly with a serious face and hugged Jenny. “Did I scare you?”
“No.”
Jenny shook her head and noticed that the pin on Riley’s tie was crooked, so she helped him straighten it out.
Riley lowered his head, his eyes that had been serious just now, as if about to wield a knife, suddenly softened like a pool of water: “Thank you, baby.”
Jenny was not used to Riley calling her this way.
She was slightly stunned for a moment, her cheeks turning red, completely unaware that Samuel’s face had already turned as dark as a sudden storm.
“Jenny!”
Samuel’s voice was trembling as he thought he could question Jenny, but it came out more like a plea.

“I didn’t die, you can’t remarry.
The temperature in Jenny’s eyes dropped.
She walked towards Samuel in high heels, took two steps, and looked him up and down from head to toe. Then she opened her red lips and said, “Who are you? Why should I listen to you?”
“I am Samuel, the Samuel you have liked since you were a teenager!”
“Samuel has died!”
Jenny took out a piece of paper and threw it into the prison cell, hitting Samuel directly in the face.
That was Samuel’s death certificate.
After reading the contents on the paper clearly, Samuel’s face turned pale.
Before he feigned death, he had never imagined that this moment would come – he actually regretted it!
After deciding to fake his death, he always longed for a carefree life with Nadya, never once considering Jenny.
He was convinced that Jenny loved him so much that she should naturally mourn for him and be sad for the rest of her life after his death.
He had never imagined that Jenny would so quickly end up in the arms of another man.
He never thought…
So when all of this happened before his eyes, he realized that he couldn’t accept such a result.
He couldn’t believe that Jenny left him!

Chapter 14
Samuel was on the verge of a breakdown.
“Jenny, I will immediately return to the Jaures family to reclaim my identity. I did not die, will you come back too?”
He knelt weakly on the ground, as if his status and face were not important at this moment.
Everything in the past played out in his mind.
וד
When he was six years old, he had just moved to California with hist parents. It was the first time he met Jenny. His mother smiled and brought Jenny in front of him, saying, “This is the bride you will marry when you grow up.”
He made a sound of disdain and ignored it, but Jenny grabbed his sleeve and didn’t let go.
At the age of sixteen, he got into a fight with someone for Nadya, and Jenny rushed in to protect him. She ended up getting hit on the head and started bleeding a lot, but still had a silly smile on her face, saying, “Sammy, as long as you’re okay.”
At the age of twenty–six, Jenny finally got married to him as she had wished, but he got drunk and threw the ring away in front of all the guests during the ring exchange, declaring, “Jenny, I will never, ever love you!”
But Jenny just gritted her teeth and held back tears, picking up the ring in front of everyone. She even joked to break the tension: “Forced melons. are not sweet, but they quench thirst.”

Chapter 14
Samuel reached out his hand to Jenny, the movement was gentle, as if trying to catch a bubble that would burst at the slightest touch.
But before his fingertips could reach out to the iron door of the prison cell, Jenny took a step back and dodged.
Her eyes were as cold as if she were looking at a stranger: “You have always liked a life of freedom, and now, as you wish, without the constraints of identity, I will no longer pursue you relentlessly. You can go, I hope this is the last time we meet.”
After saying that, she turned around and left.
No matter how many times Samuel called her name, she never turned back.
Samuel sat slumped on the cold floor, only hearing Riley’s voice instructing the guards, “Take him away.”
