Chapter 9
“What did you say?!”
Samuel thought he had misheard, so he deliberately brought his ear closer to the receiver.
At that moment, Nadya leaned in and affectionately linked her arm with his, “Sammy, should we go to the hotel first or should we go to buy the macarons I want to eat?”
She got too close, and her voice was too loud for Samuel to hear what the assistant on the other end of the phone said.
For some reason, Samuel inexplicably became angry with Nadya and pushed away the arm she had put around him, saying, “Stay away from me!”
Nadya was stunned immediately.
Whether before the breakup or after this reconciliation, Samuel never got angry with her, not even raised his voice at her.
She immediately welled up with tears, looking very aggrieved.
But Samuel remained unmoved, with only the assistant’s words from just now echoing in his mind..
“You said Riley was a man, how is that possible?”
Riley was Jenny’s best friend, and Samuel had also met her a few times. A. woman as genuine as Jenny could never be a man!
But the assistant said nervously that what he said couldn’t possibly be a

joke.

“Mr. Jaures, this matter is too complicated to explain in just a few words. You’d better search for news about Riley yourself.”
He hung up the phone, his fingertips trembling.
When I opened the news app, Riley’s news indeed dominated the headlines of various media outlets.
Riley had no interest in delving into the secrets of how a man had lived as a woman in high society for thirty years.
But the photos of Riley’s wedding in the news made it impossible for her to ignore.
Riley’s face was indeed still the same as he remembered, but in a suit and tie, with sharp short hair, he looked nothing like a woman.
He leaned down slightly to kiss Jenny, looking more like the male and female leads in a romantic drama.
At one point, an idea wormed its way into Samuel’s mind like a virus.
He fell in love with Nadya because over a decade ago, he heard someone playing the violin outside the music room, accompanying a male voice singing.
He was deeply attracted by the sound of the violin after listening to just one piece.
Later, he searched through the floor for the person practicing the piano, although Jenny’s violin practice sounded more like the sound he had
heard.
However, the person who was with Jenny at the time was Riley, who was a woman. When he heard the singing in harmony, which was a male
voice, Samuel automatically ignored Jenny.
He eventually found Nadya, who was in the piano room with her brother
at that time.
The entire building had only one piano room with a male–female pairing, and Samuel was convinced that Nadya was the one who had captured his heart.
Although he had some doubts over the years, he always believed that his initial judgment was correct.
But now, he only realized that he was truly wrong, completely wrong!
It was Jenny’s singing that attracted him in the first place, not Nadya’s…
Riley was a man!
Jenny actually remarried a man!
