Chapter 13

When Aurelie opened her eyes, she found that Leon was already not in bed. She walked out barefoot and saw the man busy in the kitchen, with a smile on his face.

She walked over and wrapped her arms around the man’s waist from behind, “Leon, it’s so nice to have you.”

Feeling the warmth on his back, Leon smiled helplessly and said, “Alright, stop messing around. Dinner is almost ready, go sit down and wait patiently to eat.”

Suddenly, he caught sight of the woman’s bare feet out of the corner of his eye. His expression tightened, and he im- mediately scooped Aurelie up in his arms. “Why aren’t you wearing shoes again? What if you get sick?”

Aurelie nestled in the man’s arms, her face blushing, “Isn’t this you holding me?”

Leon put Aurelie on the sofa, carefully put socks on her, and then brought the meal to the table.

“By the way, you don’t like coriander, so I didn’t put any coriander in any of the dishes. Leon thought Aurelie would be very touched, but after waiting for a long time, he didn’t hear her happy voice. He looked up at her with some con- fusion.”

Aurelie looked at him with red eyes, her lips pouting in distress. “My favorite thing is cilantro, why did you even get that wrong!”

As soon as these words were spoken, Leon suddenly remembered that Eloise didn’t like coriander.

His heart tightened and he quickly explained, “I’m sorry, I… made a mistake.”

He apologized sincerely, and Aurelie didn’t pursue the matter further.

After finishing their meal, the two of them got ready to try. on wedding dresses.

They passed by a bridal shop, and Leon grabbed Aurelie’s arm, “I remember you like traditional wedding. Let’s go in and try on this set.”

When these words came out, Leon himself was stunned. It was not Aurelie who liked the traditional wedding, but Eloise.

They had once dreamed about the future wedding, Eloise lay in his arms and softly said that she liked a traditional wedding, deeply influenced by her mother.

Leon looked dazed, completely unaware that Aurelie beside him had already lost all color in her face.

Aurelie tightly clutched the hem of her skirt, her face filled with bitterness.

Why couldn’t Leon forget Eloise even after she left?

She grabbed Leon’s arm tightly, looking somewhat crazy, “Who exactly can’t you forget!”

The pain in his arm pulled Leon’s thoughts back, and he looked down to see that Aurelie had scratched his arm, leav- ing bloodstains.

Seeing Aurelie’s frantic expression, he couldn’t help but furrow his brow.

Leon had never seen Aurelie like this before. In his memory, Aurelie had always been like a gentle little sister who needed his protection.

“Ellie? Perhaps noticing Leon’s expression, Aurelie instantly wiped away all emotion and instead put on a vulnerable look.”

“I’m sorry, Leon, I have been sick too many times recently and my emotions have been unstable ”

Seeing her give in, Leon’s expression improved. “No problem.”

But he also lost the idea of trying on wedding dresses. Leon didn’t know what was wrong with himself today, his mind was full of Eloise’s face. No matter what he did, he would think of Eloise.

Leon looked down at his ring finger, where there used to be a ring handmade by Eloise.

But later, Aurelie put it away, saying she was afraid he would lose it. “What about my old ring?”

Aurelie looked a bit flustered, “I put it away, in the cabinet.”

She had long thrown away the ring. She couldn’t let her man keep something from another woman.

After returning home, Leon immediately started searching for the ring. He went through all the drawers in the house, but couldn’t find it no matter how hard he tried.

He stood up and looked at Aurelie, “Ellie, do you really not remember where you put it?”

Aurelie gritted her teeth, but maintained a look of innocence on her face. “I don’t know, maybe Elle took it.”

When Eloise was mentioned, Leon froze. Maybe it really was her. His mood instantly plummeted, and Leon didn’t speak again.

Aurelie looked at him like that, wishing she could tear Eloise to pieces. She could only pray in her heart for the wed- ding to come sooner, even faster.
