Chapter 8
He glanced at the pale–faced Sarah. “I remember the Garrett family never acknowledged your identity? A private daughter born from a nanny who climbed into bed, relying on the Garrett family’s charity, and you dare
throw
your weight around here and humiliate my wife?”
Sarah froze like she’d been plunged into ice water. Her most hidden secret. had just been exposed in front of everyone, and her lips trembled as she tried to defend herself but couldn’t make a sound,
The lackeys who were still licking alcohol off the floor looked up in
shock.
“What? So you’re just a nanny’s daughter, and you’ve been acting like royalty this whole time!”
“Are you kidding me? We offended the Watson Group heiress because of some nanny’s daughter. God, I’m such an idiot!”
“A homewrecker’s daughter–no wonder she’s always trying to seduce other people’s boyfriends. Disgusting!”
Sarah realized her facade had completely crumbled and wanted to explain. to Steven that it was all just a misunderstanding. But Steven had no interest in hearing her excuses and turned directly to his assistant.
“I used to think this was just family business not worth making public, but today you really crossed the line..
“Take the surveillance footage of her mother climbing into bed back then, plus all the evidence of her secretly selling the Garrett family’s belongings on resale websites over the years. Put it all together and send it to the police immediately. Press charges for theft.”

The assistant immediately responded, “Yes, Mr. Garrett.”
“No!” Sarah let out a desperate scream. She knew what this meant!
‘You can’t do this! I’m still dad’s biological daughter–he would never agree to this!”
Steven laughed coldly without a care.
“You mean my dad? He just married into the family and took our name. He can’t even protect himself now–you think he can protect you?” After hearing this, Sarah stood frozen in place.
She finally understood–she was finished!
Steven didn’t spare her another glance, as if she were just an eyesore of garbage.
“Now, throw this woman and all the trash she brought with her out of here. They’re permanently banned from MGM Grand Hotel.”
Security immediately stepped forward and unceremoniously grabbed the collapsed Sarah, along with those men still licking the floor, dragging them out like dead dogs.
James was also “escorted” out of the lobby. Before leaving, he turned back and looked at me deeply. That look was incredibly complex–shock, regret, anger at being deceived, but more than anything, panic as he finally realized what he’d lost.
Watching their pathetic retreating figures, the frustration I’d carried for two years finally poured out of me, thanks to Steven’s series of decisive actions.
“Linda, your dad knows you’re staying at our hotel and sent me to pick
you up.
Chapter 8
“Let’s go home.”
Steven put his arm around my shoulders, his voice low and gentle- completely different from the cold man he’d been moments before.
