Chapter 6
In my past life, Alpha Nicola always told me that my very existence was an obstacle to his perfect relationship with Sasha.
He claimed I was a distraction, nothing more than a fleeting shadow in their perfect world.
The very same day, I posted a photo online.
It was a shot of a man’s long, slender, fair hand firmly clasping mine, forming a heart shape.
The man beside me had wolfish eyes—mysterious, dangerous, and, somehow, exactly what I needed.
The caption? Simple, direct, and ruthless:
[Official Announcement]
As soon as the post hit my feed, the comment section exploded in chaos.
“What’s going on?”
“Elisa, what the hell are you doing?”
“You better delete this, fast.”
Alpha Nicola’s pack of wolves flooded the comments, trying desperately to put out the fire. They called me everything from delusional to unworthy.
I leaned back, a smirk tugging at my lips, enjoying every second of their frenzy.
My phone buzzed with notifications, but I wasn’t bothered. I placed it down and turned my attention to the man beside me.
He cleared his throat, a playful glint in his eyes. “I recognize you. You’re that famous actor, Alpha Goden, right?”
“Actor, huh? ”
He looked embarrassed, but his wolfish charm remained undeniable. “Just an actor. Not a big deal.”
I studied him for a moment, noting the strength in his frame, the confidence in his posture, and that wild, untamed spark in his eyes. It was the kind of allure that could make anyone forget everything they knew.
I flashed him a smile, one that was all teeth. “Thanks for helping me out. If you’re free, let me treat you to dinner.”
His gaze softened, but there was hesitation in his eyes.
“If now isn’t a good time, we can always reschedule,” I added smoothly.
After a moment of contemplation, he nodded. “Alright. How about the day after tomorrow?”
Since I made that announcement, Alpha Nicola had been relentless.
He called, and called again.
When I blocked him, he switched numbers, hoping to get a reaction from me. But this time, I wasn’t the same Elisa anymore.
I answered his call by accident one night. The instant I did, his voice, low and furious, pierced through the line.
“Elisa, what the hell is going on?”
His words were raw, filled with disbelief, and most of all, anger.
“You’re making me look like a fool.”
He seethed. “Is this some kind of sick joke? You think you can just throw me aside like that?”
I let out a sigh, one that dripped with disdain. “Nicola, you’ve been playing me for years. You’ve been with Sasha, and I was nothing more than a distraction. You think I didn’t see it?”
The line crackled with the sound of his teeth grinding in frustration. “Are you really doing this to me? You think I won’t fight for you?” His voice trembled with anger. “I never knew you had it in you, Elisa.”
I laughed, but it was hollow, bitter. “Well, now you know.”
“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” he demanded, his tone a mix of panic and fury. “You and Sasha… you’ve had a child together! And now you’re calling me out, humiliating me in front of everyone?”
His words cut deep, but I’d long since stopped caring about his games. “You made your choices long ago, Nicola. While you were off playing family with Sasha, I was left to rot.”
He growled through the phone, sounding almost like an animal at the end of its rope. “You’ve crossed a line now, Elisa. You can’t just walk away from me.”
I pressed my lips together, frustration rising. “Oh, trust me, I haven’t even started yet.”
“You think I’ll tolerate being treated like this?” I spat.
“I’m not your pet, I’m not your backup. I’ve been your luna for years, and not once have you publicly acknowledged me.”
“You’ve been out there with Sasha—everyone can see who you really want. So don’t stand there, pretending this means anything to me.”
There was a long silence on the other end, and I could hear his breath grow heavier. “What are you saying?” he stammered, his voice faltering. “You… you’re breaking up with me? You’re telling me we’re not together anymore?”
I could feel the panic rising in his chest, but I wasn’t moved. Not anymore.
“Yes, Nicola. We’re not together.” I said coldly. “We never really were. Ask your parents—this engagement was over a long time ago. I’m single. I’m free. You’re nothing to me.”
His voice cracked, his usual dominance crumbling. “No… no, Elisa, this is our bond. You can’t just—”
I cut him off. “Your opinion doesn’t matter. You and Sasha can live your happy life together. I’m done. It’s over.”
With one final click, I hung up, the sound echoing in my ears like the final strike of a wolf’s howl.
