“Nicolas!” Jenna immediately recognized Nicolas’s identity at first glance and was shocked.
I questioned Jenna, “How did you know his identity?”
Nicolas never showed his face in the media. People in the mall knew his identity, but no one knew what he looked like.
Jenna was in a panic, “I had seen it before… before”
“Where have we met before??
“Just….” she looked at Calvin for help, “Dad, did I say something wrong?”
“I’m sorry, I should have left when you recognized Carissa. I was too attached to the warmth you gave me. I’m sorry.”
She covered her face and cried, saying she wanted to leave, but her feet remained still.
Calvin wanted to defend her, but he was interrupted by Jenna’s phone ringing.
She glanced at the caller ID and instinctively wanted to hang up.
I quickly snatched the phone from him and answered the call.
The sticky and disgusting sound of Frank instantly came out
“Jenna, did you deal with that woman?
Jenna wanted to explain, but she was stopped by a single glance from Nicolas.
Frank continued, “Baby, as we agreed before, once you dealt with that woman, we could officially be together.”
“No need to hide and serk, even to rent a room, we had to go to the neighboring city.”
I suddenly laughed and asked Frank, “Who do you want to solve?”
“Beep, beep, beep.”
The phone was instantly hung up.
Relatives and friends all looked at Jenna, and the discussions were like a tidal wave.
Was that Frank’s voice just now? Wasn’t he Carissa’s fiancé? How did he end up with Jenna?
“Who was it that I heard plotting to solve someone?”
“Could it be a dispute over inheritance?”
Jenna hurriedly explained, “Carissa, why did you still answer the phone?”
“Didn’t you ask me to keep it a secret before? You said you couldn’t handle those things you did abroad and asked me to help you solve them with Frank and Nicolas. Have you forgotten?”
I raised an eyebrow, waiting for her to continue.
“Carissa, you were with so many men abroad..”
She deliberately paused for a moment, allowing people to have ample room for imagination.
“I have already taken care of this matter for you. Let’s not mention it again in the future, okay?”
Calvin obviously believed her words, and his gaze towards me became even more disapproving “Carissa! You are so embarrassing!”
“If I had known you were such a jerk, I shouldn’t have let you come back in the first place. It would have saved me from the embarrassment if you had died outside.”

He kept scolding me incessantly, “Our Brooks family cannot afford to lose someone like you!”
Mina stopped him and said, “Don’t say that, maybe there’s a misunderstanding? Carissa is quite quiet; she wouldn’t do something like that.”

“Not – I just feel that today is New Year’s Day, otherwise let’s celebrate New Year’s Day first?

The others hurriedly compromised.
“Calvin, Carissa was too young and immature, don’t get angry.”
“No need for it, especially during New Year.”
“After spending a long time with Jenna in the future, she will become better.”
They were openly and secretly dissatisfied with me, but they didn’t hesitate to praise Jenna.
Nicolas tried to lose his temper several times, but I held him back
I didn’t take out my phone until the countdown started on the TV.
