Chapter 8
I had only been recovering for two days when I was called back to the White Pack mansion.
“I heard you’re helping Ronan arrange his mating ceremony? The White Pack patriarch sat in the main seat, his gaze penetrating and naturally imposing.
I lowered my eyes and nodded. “Yes.”
“Nonsense!” The White Pack patriarch slammed the chair back, roaring in anger.
I shrank back, explaining in a low voice, “Ronan is dying. This is his dying wish.”
The patriarch’s body shook violently at these words, looking at me in disbelief. “What did you say?”
I took out the critical condition notice and diagnosis: “I just want Ronan to die without regrets.”
The patriarch’s expression froze on his face. He valed family status most, looked down on someone like Wendy with her lowly background and scheming nature, and would never allow Wendy to become part of the White Pack
But now, he hesitated
Grandfather, please fulfill Ronan’s wish
The patriarch said nothing more, waving his hand for me to leave first
I returned to the room I shared with Ronan, but shortly after lying down, the door was kicked open and an furious Ronan stormed in.]
“Aria Judith, I was wrong to trust you! Got the shares and now you’re playing tricks on me?” Ronan forcefully grabbed my wrist, dragging me from the bed.
I fell to the ground unexpectedly
“Where’s Wendy? Why did you have grandfather take her?” Ronan’s eyes were bloodshot, the fury in them seeming ready to consume me.[]
“I don’t know.” I struggled. “Ronan, where’s your rationality? Do I have the ahibry to interfere with grandfather’s decisions?”
Ronan’s face was dark, completely ignoring my words. “I’m giving you one day to return Wendy to me, or prepare to collect your father’s body.”
My heart clenched as I stared at Ronan, tears welling up. “What did you do to my father? You can’t hurt him!”
Ronan remained unmoved, pulling out his phone and placing it in front of me.
In the video, my father was suspended from a tower crane, swaying in the wind, precarious
“Let my father g
go, and I’ll help you find Wendy.” I cried out, prostrating myself before Ronan
Ronan’s expression flickered, but he still said coldly, “Only when I see Wendy will I release him.”
“Please let him down first! He has heart disease, he can’t take this pleaded through tears.
“Instead of begging me, you’d better find Wendy quickly. You only have one hour.” Ronan coldly put away his phone and left
I stumbled to my feet and knelt outside the White Pack patriarch’s room.
“Please fulfill their wish, grandfather. It’s just a mating ceremony. We’ll do it quietly, it won’t affect the White Pack’s reputation“]] “Grandfather, let Ronan see Wendy.“[
I shouted while kowlowing for a full forty minutes before the patriarch opened the door.
Seeing my condition, he took a deep breath and relented Tine, I’m old and don’t understand you young people’s affairs. She’s at Villa No. 1 in the suburbs. Go find her.”
“Thank you, grandfather!” I thanked him repeatedly, getting up to find Ronan, but my body swayed and I fell to the ground
Ignoring the pain, I got up and took two steps before tumbling down the stairs. I gritted my teeth and persisted forward.
“Ronan, Wendy is at Villa No. 1 in the suburbs. Where’s my father?” I found Ronan in the garage, and he immediately started the car upon hearing this.]
I blocked the car, nearly getting hit. He glared at me angrily. “Are you crazy?“]
“Where’s my father?” I spread my arms, stubbornly blocking the car.
A flash of surprise crossed Roman’s eyes, as if he’d never seen me like this, but his mind was full of Wendy and he had no time to think about it.
“The eastern dock.”
I rushed to a nearby car and left the mansion even faster than Renan
Arriving at the dock, I saw my father suspended in mid–air 0
Tears flowed uncontrollably as I tremblingly climbed the platform to operate the machinery and lower him to the ground.
Father had already fainted from a heart attack and didn’t respond no matter how I called.
“Father, wake up, don’t scare me Open your eyes, father, father!
“Don’t leave me, father.”
Tears blurred my vision as I rushed him to the hospital
The doctor looked at the Datlined heart monitor and said with some regret, looking at me, that it was too late.
I leaned against the wall outside the emergency room, clutching my collar, opening my mouth to cry but finding I couldn’t make a sound
My heart was completely shattered
Only now did I realize that when heartbreak reaches its extreme, tears won’t come
