Javon had a faint smell of disinfectant on her body, mixed with the slightly cool air of the autumn night, reminding her of when she was a child and had a fever, being carried by her family to the clinic.
He walked slowly and steadily with every step, making her feel extremely reassured.
‘Are you happy today? Javon suddenly asked.”
She shook her legs: “The Technical Department adopted my interactive proposal!”
“Last week at this time, you were still worried about keeping up with the pace, Javon chuckled. “Now even Brayden is calling you Tutor.”
The night wind brushed through the treetops as Elie pressed his face. against his warm back.
In the past, she thought that leaving Eric’s world would be earth- shattering, but now…
The sycamore leaves rustled, as if answering in her place.
After they got home, Javon went to the kitchen to cut up some fruit.
Elie sat cross–legged on the carpet, with colorful sticky notes spread out in front of him.
When Javon approached with the fruit tray, she was in the process of sticking the “Overall Process Chart for the New Project” on the wall.

“The AI Module needs to be strengthened… she muttered, biting on the end of her pen, before suddenly being handed an apple.”
Javon pointed to the flowchart she had hand–drawn and asked, “Should we add an encryption gateway here?”
“Do you understand medical AI? she asked, looking surprised.”
“A certain Tutor kept nagging in my ear every day, Javon said with a smile as he opened his notebook. “Want to try out this interface? It’s part of the new network architecture upgrade at our hospital.”
The sunlight streamed through the gauze curtain onto the floor, Elie gazing at his focused profile.
My thoughts suddenly drifted back to the days with the Lawrence family.
She always cautiously tried to guess Eric’s preferences, even feeling like she had to control the volume of her own breathing.
Now, Javon would save the sweetest strawberries for her, would carefully listen to her every immature idea, and would specially add a desk for her in the study.
“What are you daydreaming about? Javon waved his hand in front of her.”
Elie shook her head and buried her face in the steaming hot coffee cup. Amidst the rising steam, she softly said, “Thank
you.”
It was not just politeness, but a thank you for showing her such a world.

courage.
The project that Elie was in charge of was quickly launched, and she was promoted to team leader. A celebration banquet was specially held for her.
“Let’s raise a toast to our team leader Elie! the technical director shouted. holding up a champagne glass. “You truly are a very outstanding person, beautiful and talented. There is no one among us who wouldn’t like you!”
Amidst the applause, Elie was pushed onto the stage.
All eyes were on her as the spotlight fell on her, and she instinctively searched for that figure.
Javon stood at the back row and mouthed “Look at the cue cards.
She chuckled and the nervousness suddenly dissipated.
“The biggest contributor to this project was actually our medical consultant, Dr. Norman.”
She lifted the trophy, and the spotlight shone directly on her seat.
Javon’s ears turning red made a soft spot in her heart.
At the end of the movie, Javon wrapped the scarf around her neck and said, “It’s snowing.”
The first snowflakes were falling gently, Elie exhaled a puff of white breath and said, “I feel like I am…”
She paused for a long time before finally finding the most fitting description, “I finally lived the way I wanted to.”
Javon suddenly turned around and hugged her.

The down jacket rustled as it rubbed against itself, his heartbeat thudding through his chest, fast and heavy.
“Not enough, he said in her ear, “I want you to live the happiest life.”
The snow fell on their clasped hands, and neither of them let go.
