Evelyn could hardly believe what she heard, “Why?”
Martin did not answer, but continued, “The follow–up work will be reported by Isabel, and you will temporarily assume the position of secretary training.”
With that, he raised his gaze, indicating that Evelyn could leave.
Without any explanation, she had to hand over her achievements to someone.
Evelyn felt a surge of anger rise to her head. “Why! I have worked hard for over a year for this project, putting in so much effort, why should Isabel be given it as soon as she arrives?!”
Martin looked up at her with a hint of surprise.
For the past five years, it was the first time he had seen Evelyn so angry.

Evelyn coldly placed the documents on the table, saying, “Everything is here, you won’t ask me again.”
“Thank you, Ms. Gomez did a really thorough job.”
Isabel laughed even more brightly, while Evelyn took several deep breaths to suppress the stifling feeling in her chest.
From that day on, Evelyn began to consciously distance herself from Martin. They lived under the same roof, but they never looked up or spoke more than ten sentences to each other every day.
And so, a month passed coldly and indifferently.
That day after work, Jenny accompanied Evelyn to wait for the elevator and received a message, feeling somewhat surprised.

Martin turned his head, about to speak, but was interrupted.
The leading woman shouted angrily, “Here comes another one, Mr. Wilson. Tell me, is she the one in charge, or is she?”
While speaking, he pointed at Evelyn and Isabel.
