Chapter 3
She turned over to the other side, and Sean watched as her curled–up shadow was cast by the moonlight. At that moment, a strange feeling arose in his heart.
This was the first time he wasn’t being wholeheartedly relied upon by Aliana like that. Even though he didn’t like her, he should have been happy that she wasn’t clinging to him anymore. However, he couldn’t feel any happiness at all, only a strange emptiness In the depths of his heart.
He was just accustomed to her leaning on his chest, relying on him wholeheartedly. That’s how he comforted himself.
The next day, Aliana woke up late. When she finished getting ready and went downstairs, she
noticed that Sean hadn’t left yet. A hint of surprise flashed in her eyes, and she blurted out unconsciously, “Aren’t you going to the hospital to accompany Miss McCann today?”
Upon hearing these words, he might have been a little impatient in the past, but at this moment, he quietly breathed a sigh of relief.
Yesterday, it turned out that she was indeed jealous because of Aurora.
“Aurora was just my friend, and she had an accident right after returning to the country, so I took care of her a little more. Now she has been discharged from the hospital.”
He patiently explained to her, paused for a moment, and then added, “Didn’t you want me to take you to see the sunset before? I haven’t been able to accompany you these past few days, so as compensation, I’ll take you today.”
“No need.”
Having realized that she had made a mistake and was already on the verge of getting a divorce, Aliana naturally had no intention of continuing to accompany him in these meaningless activities. Subconsciously, she chose to refuse, but to her surprise, he considered his arrangement
reasonable and had someone bring the car over directly.
After being taken onto the car, she no longer kept worrying and sat quietly in the car.
The car drove towards the outskirts all the way, and soon arrived at the destination. However, just as they reached the top of the mountain, Sean’s phone rang-
He picked up his phone and answered the call, and the screen that flashed before his eyes clearly displayed the word “Aurora“.
I’m not sure what was said over there, but after the phone call ended, he hesitated for a moment and then got back in the car. Before leaving, he only left her with a short sentence, “I’ll be back to

That being said, Allana waited for a long time, until the sun gradually set, the sunset dissipated, and he still did not come back.
She couldn’t catch a ride up the mountain, and she didn’t call Sean to ask if he would still come. Instead, she silently walked down the road alone.
The mountain was high and the road was steep. Even though it wasn’t a muddy path, by the time Aliana reached the bottom of the mountain, her feet had already been blistered. Just as she took out her phone to call a taxi back to the villa, she received a message from Sean, one of her close friends.
“There is an urgent matter, come for a night visit.”
Most of Sean’s brothers looked down on her, the woman who had been chasing after him for two years before finally marrying him. They rarely contacted her, so when she saw this message, she didn’t hesitate at all. She casually hailed a taxi and headed straight to the Night Sky Club.
It’s not that she was particularly worried about Sean, but she was afraid that something might have happened to him during this time that could affect the divorce.
Little did they know that when they found the compartment based on the address they had received, as they pushed open the door and were about to walk in, suddenly there was a rope under their feet. Unaware, she was tripped and fell heavily onto the nearby stool, hitting her head hard.
The pain made her instantly feel dizzy, and when she touched it, she found a sticky substance.
A group of people in the compartment saw her disheveled appearance, but still had no intention of letting her go. The next second, someone closed the door and the basin followed by pouring down.
“Crash!”
As the sound of water rang out, a bucket of cold water poured down from above her head, drenching
her completely.
“Hahaha, look at her disheveled appearance, does she look like a dog?”
“Hey, don’t say that, Jonas. Your description is quite accurate, isn’t it?”
The people in the private room burst into laughter, with derogatory remarks and mockery directed at her both explicitly and implicitly.
The air conditioning in the compartment was turned up high, and her damp clothes clung to her body. A gust of cold wind blew, causing her to shiver involuntarily. The water droplets falling from her hair blurred her vision. Finally realizing that it was just a prank, Aliana’s expression remained
unchanged, and she casually wiped her face amidst the laughter of the crowd.
Seeing that she had no reaction, some of those people found it boring, while others thought it was just because it wasn’t exciting enough. They took out their phones and played a surveillance video
for her.
“Hey, lickspittle, I called you over this time to tell you that Sean’s Aurora has returned.”
She looked up, and the content on the phone screen happened to be playing.
It appeared to be in another room, Sean was half squatting and massaging Aurora’s ankle, with tenderness in his eyes.
“Did you see that? Today, Sean left you behind just to throw a welcome party for Aurora. Aurora only twisted her foot a little, and Sean immediately carried her away with concern. Have you ever been treated like this in all these years? Don’t just occupy this spot, I advise you to be sensible and quickly give up your place, otherwise, being kicked out won’t look good.”
A group of brothers continued to be relentless, but Aliana struggled to get up, trying her best to ignore the pain in her feet. When she looked at the crowd, her eyes were deep and her voice was calm and unruffled.
“Don’t worry, I would step down, because I don’t like him either.”
