Chapter 47 Fainted into Albert’s Arms

“Could it be that the dead woman had something to do with Charles?” The thought flitted through Florence’s mind.
However, she didn’t ask Charles. After all, it was just a wild
guess.
The most important thing right now was to get rid of this pesky
reporter.
“Mrs. Morris, do you really think your husband did the right thing?” The reporter’s voice snapped Florence back to reality.
She glanced coldly at the reporter’s press badge before looking at him directly. “As a reporter, shouldn’t you be reporting based on facts?”
The reporter immediately retorted, “But the woman died in your hotel, didn’t she?”
Florence’s expression hardened. “Indeed, she died in the Morris family’s hotel. But what evidence do you have to prove that her death has anything to do with the hotel? Forget it. There’s no point in talking to a reporter who fabricates facts. I’m callin my lawyer now. Your boss will be receiving a letter from him
tomorrow.

“Hopefully, he’ll be able to explain in court why his reporter is slandering the Morris family. Could it be that he has a grudge against us?”
As expected, Florence’s words made the reporter’s face stiffen, and a visible panic flashed in his eyes.
It seemed that his boss was unaware of his actions.
Seeing the reporter show a hint of apprehension, Florence’s expression softened a bit. “Of course, the hotel isn’t shirking responsibility. As soon as the coroner’s report is out, we’ll release the information immediately. If it really is food poisoning, the hotel will absolutely not avoid its obligations.”
The reporter finally left, looking dejected. After all, staying here wouldn’t get him the story he wanted, and he might even get sued by the hotel’s lawyers. What if his boss fired him because of
that?
Once the reporter was gone, Albert had already forgotten about the sting of Florence’s slap. He looked at her with tender eyes. “Thank you, Florence. I knew you still loved me; otherwise, you wouldn’t have helped me get rid of that reporter.”

Florence’s face remained impassive, her voice indifferent. “The reason I helped is that this hotel was Madam Morris‘ life’s She has always been very kind to me. It has nothing to do with you.”

The smile on Albert’s face froze. “Florence, must you always be
so contrary?”
Florence looked at him, speechless. “If you knew me at all, you’d know I’m not one to say things I don’t mean.”
“Florence, you’re finally here.”
A woman’s voice rang out, interrupting their conversation. Isabella had walked over, a gentle smile on her face.
Looking at Isabella’s attire, Florence recalled the description of the woman who had slandered her at the police station. She immediately realized that the person who had bribed that woman was Isabella.
Florence looked at Albert, a sardonic smile playing on her lips. “You and Isabella are already so inseparable; why haven’t you signed our divorce agreement? Do you want your beloved woman to continue to follow you without a title?”
Albert’s face darkened. “What nonsense are you talking about? I brought her here for work.”
“Oh, just work.”
Florence sneered at Isabella, who now had a hurt expression on her face. Then she called over a nearby staff member.
“Mrs. Morris, what can I do for you?”

The hotel staff’s attitude was very attentive, which was a thorn in Isabella’s side.
“Take good care of Ms. Brown. After all, she’d never been to a five–star hotel like this before. If there’s anything she doesn’t understand, just tell her and show her the ropes.”
As soon as the words left her mouth, Isabella’s face paled, a flicker of embarrassment crossing her features.
“Florence, how could you say something like that?”
Albert couldn’t help but stand up for Isabella, though a smug part of him thought, “See, Florence is still into me. Why else would she be giving Isabella a hard time?”
Isabella quickly put on an understanding face. “Albert, don’t blame Florence. She didn’t mean anything by it.”
With that, she swayed on her feet.
“Isabella, what’s wrong?”
Alarmed, Albert rushed forward to steady her.
Isabella gave him a weak smile. “I might be a little tired to y. My blood sugar seems to be low.”
After uttering those words, Isabella’s eyes fluttered closed, and

she fainted right into Albert’s arms.
Forgetting all about Florence, Albert scooped Isabella up. He barked at the hotel staff to call a doctor and carried Isabella back
to their room.
“Looks like you really are having dinner with us tonight. What do you fancy?”
Florence had been watching Albert disappear into the elevator with Isabella, a sneer playing on her lips when a smooth voice suddenly reached her ears.
Turning her head, she saw Charles looking at her, a smirk playing on his lips.
Florence’s mind flashed back to the woman who had died in the
hotel. “Could this man be involved?” she wondered.
