Something unexpected happened.
The big project Lucas was currently working on, the partner was my and Ryan’s senior from university.
“It was actually Brother Robert who recommended me to come to Xun Yao.” Ryan came to my workstation to slack off, “The boss is really something, actually arranging for you to be an assistant, it’s such a waste of talent.”
I kept my gaze on the computer screen, organizing the files I was working on, “Just say what you want to say.”
“But it’s okay, I plan to ask the boss, he smiled mischievously, “to let you participate in our project. Once this project is over, the boss will definitely see your abilities and give you a promotion and raise.”
I glanced at him indifferently, “Trying to trick me into helping you with work?”
“Hehe,” Ryan grinned slyly, “Senior, just let me take advantage of you this once!” Before I could reply, Lucas happened to pass by on his way back to the office.

Before I could reply, Lucas happened to pass by on his way back to the office.
Ryan immediately went up to him, “Boss, I want to discuss something with you.”
“For the project with CEO Lopez, can we let my senior participate? CEO Lopez has a better relationship with my senior than with me, and the prototype of this project was actually done by CEO Lopez and my senior together!”
Lucas’s eyes narrowed slightly as he looked at me, “Very good relationship.”
nodded, “It was quite good when we were in school.”
At that time, senior sister Hannah knew about my situation and took very good care of me. Robert was Hannah’s boyfriend, so he also looked after me by association. As for that project, it was initially the professor who asked Hannah to be in charge of guiding me, so I followed them to do it.
Lucas lowered his eyelids, “Come if you want to.”
After saying this, he strode back to his office.
“Why did the boss suddenly become unhappy?” Ryan scratched his head, puzzled.
I looked at him in confusion, “Did he?”
Wasn’t he just normal?
Ryan said with certainty, “Of course, how can you trust yourself over me in this matter?”
That makes sense.
“Then why is he angry?”
“How would I know? These high–level people are always moody.”
Seeing that I didn’t agree, Ryan asked curiously: “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, I need to get back to work.” I said indifferently, “You should go back too.”
Ryan felt something was off about me, but since I usually don’t have many expressive facial expressions, he couldn’t tell the difference.
“Alright then, I’ll go. I’ll send you the project materials later.“”
I nodded in response.
Hmph, Lucas is not moody at all.
