Chapter 3
Victor always cared deeply about anything related to Sylvia.
The day before, he had just received the divorce agreement from me, and the next morning he arranged a press conference.
I was sitting in the yard when Victor’s assistant was brought to me by Margaret
He said, “Ms. Sinclair, Mr. Laurent asked me to come and pick you up for the Laurent Group’s press conference.”
Thadn’t spoken yet.
The assistant thought I was going to refuse, so he simply told me Victor’s exact words.
He said, “Ms. Sinclair, even if not for Mr. Laurent, for the sake of your reputation, you should have attended this press conference.”
I paused for a moment, then chuckled softly.
Victor threatened me again.
Afraid that I would back out at the last moment, they tried to use tactics from my previous life to force me to compromise.
In order to protect Sylvia, I was willing to sacrifice my reputation and ultimately had to bow my head.
I never understood, in Victor’s mind, am 1 his wife or his enemy.
Now he wanted to publicly clarify our relationship
Twas no exception.
The car slowly drove towards the most luxurious hotel in Havenport. At the hotel entrance, it was already surrounded by various media, making it impossible for water to leak through.
The flashbulbs flickered, the crowd bustled, and the assistant led me through the crowded crowd, stepping into the hotel lobby.
“Excuse me, could you please make way?” Victor’s voice came from behind.
Sylvia appeared at the door, dressed in a white dress, and walked hand in hand with Victor, like a perfect couple.
I turned around and happened to meet Victor’s eyes.
When our eyes met, he casually averted his gaze and took Sylvia’s hand. The two of them looked affectionate, as if everything around them had nothing to do with them, and they never saw me.
1 let out a self–deprecating chuckle.
“Ms. Sinclair, did you really get divorced from Mr. Laurent?“”
The questioner, probably an intern, had a hint of timidity in his voice.
“Yes,” I said, with a slight smile on my face, my tone calm, and nodded.
The intern seemed to be trying to find a loophole from me and continued to ask, “But Ms. Sinclair and Mr. Laurent knew each other in college, right? They dated for five years and got married for seven years…”
“Last month, Mr. Laurent splurged on buying you a luxurious yacht, and the fireworks show on your birthday was a sensation in the whole city.
I still smiled, but there was a hint of Indifference in my eyes.
“This is what he owed me.”
Because of Sylvia’s words, “Vie, I miss my brother, can you accompany me?” be missed my birthday, and this was his gift to make up for it.
In the previous life, I was still complacent about this matter, never realizing the hidden reasons behind these so–called “compensations“.
Later it was learned that this idea was proposed by Linden, and Victor had no involvement in the matter from start to finish. He didn’t even know where the fireworks were set off that day.
“Ms. Sinclair, you said this was owed to you by him, but what about your feelings towards Mr. Laurent?
The intern continued to ask, with a hint of nervousness in their eyes, as the surrounding voices gradually faded away-
Victor also looked at me, with a slight frown on his forehead.

I smiled slightly, but my eyes gradually turned cold as I said, “I don’t love you anymore.”
