Shania clenched the remaining shreds of the love letter in her hand, the fingering heat from the flames burning her palm.

Jackson frowned at the torn pages, thinking they looked familiar. Before he could pornder further, Katherine’s voice came from outside the door.
“Mr. Pruitt, are you going to the party or not? If you don’t leave soon, I’m not going!”

I wanted to take her to the gathering to meet some people,” he paused, “but she said she’s your caregiver, so she’ll only go if you go.

This time he just pushed her away and pinned Katherine on the sofa to deepen the kiss.

Just as he was immersed in the game, Shania’s vision started to blur, and she stumbled and fell onto the champagne tower.
