Chapter 10%
Ana’s smile faded when she saw the way Silas just stood there, silent and stil
“She’s not really gone, Silas” Ana said, rolling her eyes. “She wouldn’t leave you, Silas. Everyone knows how much she loves you.” Silas didn’t respond.
what he wants. She wants attention. Ana stepped closer. “This is what she wants. probably just hid her things to mess with you.”
Silas still didn’t say a word.
She’s in
trying to make you feel guilty so you’ll come crawling to her. She
sly in love with you.
Ana folded her arms, getting annoyed. “Do you seriously believe she left? Silas, come on. That woman was hopelessly She practically worshiped the ground you walked on ”
That was true.
Willow had always loved him, no matter how cold or harsh he acted to her. She endured everything he threw her way.
But something had changed recently. She had changed
His eyes narrowed as a memory flashed through his mind. He remembered coming home that day to find her packing. He asked her what she was doing.
“I’m reorganizing my closet,” she had said.8
He remembered how she had tossed that toy wolf he got her into a donation box. She had loved that so much.
He had picked it up. “Even this?” he asked her. “You loved this.”
She shrugged. “Things change. People change. Love fades.”
He had frowned at her words, wondering what she meant by that, but before he could ask, Ana had walked in and distracted him. He never got the chance to ask her what she meant by that.
Willow had been distancing herself for a while. She had stopped looking at him the same way, she no longer smiled at him.
And yet, he didn’t notice. Or maybe he noticed, but he just didn’t care then.
Until now.
He looked around the room again, then his stomach twisted with dread as his eyes landed on a familiar box sitting on the top of the shelf in the room.
He stepped closer. It was out of place. That wasn’t where it had always been.
He hadn’t touched it in months, and Willow had always stayed away from it. Besides, he had hidden the key very well.
He stared at it for a long second, as his heart pounded in his chest.
His lands shook as he finally reached up and pulled the box down.!!
It was already open.
Silas froze.
He had locked it. He was sure he had hidden the key in the secret bottom of his drawer, when Willow wasn’t looking. So how was the box open? Panic surged through him.!!
Slowly, he lifted the cover of the box.
His breath caught in his throat.
Inside the box, there was a document he didn’t recognize, and on top was a note !!
His fingers trembled as he picked up the note slowly!!
There were only four words written in Willow’s familiar handwriting:
“Goodbye forever, Alpha Silas “1
He stared at the note, his heart pounded faster in disbelief as he tried to process what he was looking at.
The weight of everything dawned on him, and his stomach sank.N
If the box was open, and she had placed the note there, then it meant that she had seen everything.
A wave of dread flooded through him. No, no, no.ll
The mating registration papers for him and Anastasia was in there.
And worse, the records of the experimental treatment they were doing!
Willow knew.
She knew that he had been the one causing the miscarnages, to harvest the stem cells from the fatus for Ana’s treatments. The truth was no longer hidden, she had seen it all.
His eyes dropped to the document that was under the note. His hands shook as he picked it up.
It was a signed divorce agreement.
His mouth fell slightly open in shock. “What the hell? When did I sign this?“||
He hadn’t signed anything like this. Then it hit him.E
slightly open in shock “What the hell? When did I sign this?
He hadn’t signed anything like this. Then it hit him.
It was that day he had walked in on her crying. She had given him a document claiming that the council needed his signature on it. He hadn’t even looked. He had just signed it, because he had been in a hurry to meet Ana.
He ran a hand down his face, as his heart thudded painfully in his chest
Willow had planned to leave him already, even before the incident at the Hall
But how? She loved him. She couldn’t just leave like that
Like a slap, he remembered her words
Things change. People change. Love fades.“2
He remembered her words clearly now. She wasn’t just talking about old things, she was talking about him.
He slowly sat on the bed with the note and the divorce papers still in his hand as his mind processed what was going on.
Silas thought he didn’t care about Willow, so what was this strange feeling in his chest that wouldn’t go away?
