Chapter36
Alaricka’s voice was calm: “This was our only condition, so don’t complain.”
It was just like Tamika said. Alaricka’s rented place didn’t have an elevator, but luckily it was on the second floor, so moving the luggage was quick.
Even though it was in an old neighborhood and the building was old, the house had all the hardware it needed. The place had two bedrooms and a living room, not very big. They tidied up a bit and could move in pretty quickly.
Alarieka skillfully opened her backpack and took out her workbook.
Finals week was coming, she didn’t dare to relax.
At the Argent’s villa, Kieran just walked in, and the servants going in and out were moving a nightstand and got stuck at the door.
The servant was sweating all over and moved slightly to the side to let Kieran in.
“Mr. Argent, sorry.”
Kieran didn’t move, just stood at the gate, blocking the servants going in and out.
He recognized this nightstand, it was the one in Alarieka’s room, and there were still the cute stickers Alaricka had put on the cabinet door.
His brows furrowed slightly, and his voice was low: “What’s going
on?”

The servant avoided eye contact and said in a low voice, “It was Sir Argent’s order, you can go ask him.”
Kieran’s narrow black eyes had a strange pressure, like he was casually looking at the nightstand.
Didn’t know what they were thinking.
The servants were sweating all over their heads, scared by the pressure in Kieran’s eyes and voice.
Kieran stared for a long time, and they couldn’t figure out what Kieran was thinking, or whether they should go forward or back.
After a moment, Kieran shifted a bit and revealed a doorway you could walk right through.
The servant let out a sigh of relief and was about to carry the nightstand out when he heard Kieran’s voice again.
“Put it down.”
The servant was startled: “But this was what Sir Argent told us to do, said to throw out everything from Ms. Huston’s room, we-”
Kieran’s voice got deeper: “Put it back. Don’t make me say it again.”
The servants glanced at each other and both saw the fear in each other’s eyes.
They quickly lowered their heads and, following the way they came, put the nightstand back in Alarieka’s room.
The servant, who was standing in the living room with the big bed, also hurriedly put it back.
Alaricka’s room had pretty much been cleared out but

to how it was.
Kieran walked up to Wallace’s study and knocked on the door.
An old voice of Wallace came from inside the door: “Come in.”
Kieran pushed the door open and walked in. His eyes, hard to read, quickly glanced over the desk in the study. He got straight to the point: “Where did Alaricka go?”
Wallace took off his reading glasses, his cloudy eyes met Kieran’s
gaze, and he said in a low voice, “She just moved out, what should be there will still be there.”
Kieran didn’t show much expression: “Why did you make her move
out?”
At this point, Wallace was already a bit annoyed by Kieran’s questioning.
But for Kieran’s sake, he still explained in a low voice, “She stayed here, but she didn’t get along with Clarissa or Holter. Keeping her here just caused trouble all the time, big or small. It gave me a headache.”
Kieran pressed his thin lips together.
Even though he didn’t talk, Wallace understood the grandson he had raised himself.
Wallace suddenly smiled, a teasing look in his eyes: “I remember she didn’t get along with Roschelle. But now, you look like you don’t want her to leave.”
Kieran’s eyebrows twitched a little: “This wasn’t the same thing.”
Wallace stopped smiling. “Kier, Alarieka couldn’t stay here.”

Kieran lifted his eyelids, his dark eyes meeting Wallace’s cloudy ones.
Wallace’s face darkened a bit: “Kier, she just wasn’t one of the Argent family. you should’ve thought about the Argent family in everything, not some outsider.”
Kieran’s eyes narrowed a little.
Wallace looked away and stared out the window.
“Kier, if you couldn’t let go, you could let her come back.”
As he expected, Kieran turned down the offer.
Everybody knew, it was the same between Alarieka and the Argent family as it was between Alarieka and Roschelle.
Kieran only chose Roschelle, and only chose the Argent family.
Kieran always knew what he was doing and what he had to do.
This was also Wallace’s trust in him.
Roschelle’s family background was way better than Alarieka’s, and the help Roschelle gave Kieran was way better than what Alarieka could give.
Whether emotionally or materially, Roschelle was stronger than Alarieka.
Wallace waved his hand, “Get out, don’t bother me while I’m reading.”
