Chapter 2
Our only chance at rescue had been wasted by Kim’s incompetence.
With their lives on the line, the team no longer cared about whether they’d be fired. Complaints erupted like a rushing storrn.
“Kim, are you a freaking moron? There’s only one tree in sight–even a blind man couldn’t have missed this bally like you!”
“If you want to play the dumb beauty drama, fine, but don’t gamble with our lives! Yea stupid head”
Kim’s eyes reddened with tears as she turned to Cullen for help.
“I’m sorry.. I didn’t mean to do that. I’m too stupid and clumsy”
“Three years ago, when I dragged Cullen from the ruins of his crashed car, I injured the tendons in my hand badly…‘
“Ever since then, my fingers tremble uncontrollably sometimes.”
“I didn’t want Cullen to blame himself, so I never told him… but now, I have no choice.”
Cullen was deeply moved. He pulled her into a tight embrace
“Kimmy, it’s not your fault. It’s mine.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll get you out of here!”
Asharp–tongued girl rolled her eyes and snapped,
“The only flare’s p
s gone. How exactly are we getting off this island?”
Cullen smirked and pulled out a GPS locatur like it was a treasure
“Calm down. Before this trip, I arranged with security–if we’re gone for two weeks, they’ll come for us.”
The group sighed in relled and began rationing supplies, calculating how to survive the next four days.
But then, Kim’s expression turned strange.
“…I took out the GPS chip and threw it away….”
Silence fall to the ground again.
Even Cullen froze.
explained, “I just wanted to make the trip more exciting! I never thought we’d get stranded!”
“Cullen, I’m so sorry! It’s all my fault”
Tears welled in her eyes as she theatrically dropped to her knees. She fell to the groud and started weeping.
Cullen’s heart softened instantly. He helped her up..
“It’s fine, it’s fine! I know you love adventure–you just wanted everyone to experience the real deserted island life!”
“You meant well. How could I blame you?”
Kim’s take all vanished in a second
“Then come explore that cave with
I’m not done playing yet!”
i similed indulgently and nodded.
Hand in hand, they skipped toward the cave like children.
I couldn’t help but warn them,
“Be careful That cave is full of venomous snakes!

He was terrified of snakes–even a photo made him shudder.
But Kim, oblivious didn’t notice his expression, clung to his arm and cooed,
“They’re just little

Flushed with false bravado, Cullen shot me a scornful look.
“Kimmy’s braver than you’ll ever be. Not everyone’s a coward like you, Elena!”
With that, the two disappeared into the cave.
I was seething and woundn’t speak another word.
The past three years have seen me building Cullen from a penniless guy into a successful CEO.
Day and night, I put all my effort into this man and this company.
Every company decision, I analyzed meticulously and thought is over and over, foreseeing every risk that is possible to happen.
All those endless hard work almost bara hole in my heart.
At first, Cullen revered me as his mentor.
I thought our love would make us get over with whatever coming to us.
Maybe love can do that magic, I assumed, but love just won’t last that long.
The words of a man are just like those beautiful roses, they came in a shiny way, and then, not for long, gone with withered petals all over the sticky

But as the company grew, he dismissed me as paranoid-“afraid of everything like an old lady,”
He handed all decision–making power to Kim Cooper, an intern
She’s so bright and adorable and her glowing smile immediately occupied his whole world.
Every time I looked her, I can’t help but think of the naive girl I used to be when I met this man.
But our story didn’t come to a good ending like those fairy tales.
Kim’s reddess choices created endless disasters.
And who cleaned up the mess? Me.
As the days flew bry, the

In my past life, I was too weak. They saw me as their doormat.
Back to now, I touched the lone vial of antivenom in my bag.
They would get bitten by vipers for sure
And only one of them would survive.
Let’s see how “brave” they are when death comes locking
