Chapter 18
“I wanna show the truth to everyone. Why is Clarissa stopping me? What’s she hiding? Is she scared?”
Kieran remained silent. There was a cold, oppressive look in his eyes.
Alaricka continued calmly, “Kieran, I just wanna check the camera footage. Afterward, if you still think I’m in the wrong, I won’t complain.”
She sneered, “But I’m afraid you don’t have the guts to face the truth. You just wanna shut me up.”
Her tone dripped with sarcasm. Kieran frowned.
Didn’t this scene feel familiar to Alaricka? In her previous life, he jumped to a conclusion without evidence, blaming her and defending Roschelle.
That time, he locked her up in the storage room of the villa for a month. She could only have one meal every day.
The domestic workers were all snobs. Sometimes, the food had gone bad. It meant Alarieka had to go hungry.
With the windows shut, the storage room was dark. Then, Alarieka had a fever, too groggy to tell the daytime from the night, dipping in and out of
consciousness.
She cried and begged for the help of the people outside. The nonchalant reply of Kieran’s assistant was all she got.
“Ms. Huston, knock it off, or you’ll have to stay here longer.”
When she was finally released one month later, she was appallingly

skinny and taken to the hospital for rescue.
Luckily, the treatment was in time. Otherwise, she’d have become a retard. due to the fever.
This time, no one could do that to her again!
Alarieka didn’t expect Kieran to defend her.
But the sight of him taking Clarissa’s side without hesitation still hurt.
With a frown, Kieran stared at Alaricka. His eyes betrayed no emotion.
Just when Alarieka was almost certain he would refuse to check the camera footage, he said, squinting, “Let’s check the camera footage.”
Extremely nervous, Clarissa almost shrieked, “No!”
Alarieka sneered, “Why not? What are you nervous about?”
Clarissa’s face went pale. Biting her lower lip, she denied, “I’m not.”
Kieran glanced at Clarissa, and Clarissa shut up at once.
Without another word, Kieran gestured to the principal with his eyes. Then, he sat on the couch, crossed his legs, and put his folded hands on
his knees.
Roschelle stood beside Kieran. When she lowered her head, her smooth and fair neck showed. She looked at him with her gentle, affectionate
eyes.
Kieran turned his head slightly and said in a deep, husky voice, “Sit.”
With a faint smile, Roschelle sat next to Kieran, pressing her arm against his intimately.
Chapter 18
The principal had his subordinate find the video and play it to everyone. It showed clearly how Clarissa and her sidekicks made trouble for Alarieka at her desk.
The truth was finally out. It was a dead silence in and out of the principal’s office. Clarissa was extremely embarrassed. Biting her lower lip, she glared at Alaricka.
Alarieka turned to Kieran. “Well, still think I should apologize?”
Kieran didn’t answer. The whole thing was clear now. He said to Clarissa,
Clarissa, apologize.”
Clarissa refused through gritted teeth, “No!”
Almost simultaneously, Alarieka declared, “Don’t bother.
“I don’t want her apology.”
Kieran looked at her, confused.
Alarieka left without sparing anyone so much as a look.
Tamika stood there, flustered. She smiled fawningly at the sullen Kieran and ran after Alarieka.
Alarieka pressed through the crowd calmly. Tamika caught up to her and grabbed her wrist.
“Alarieka, Clarissa is a member of the Argent family. Don’t be rude.”
Looking at her coolly, Alarieka remembered Kieran’s words.
