Chapter 4
Chapter 4
Tamika quickly walked over and grabbed Alarieka’s wrist.
“What are you doing? Come on, sit next to Mr. Argent.”
Alarieka smoothly pulled free from her grip and looked at Wallace. “Sir Argent, can I sit here?”
Wallace’s eyes lit up a bit. “Sure, but didn’t you always sit next to Kieran? Did you guys fight?”
Alarieka lowered her head and said softly, “No.”
Hearing this, Kieran let out a soft, derisive snort.
Alarieka’s voice stopped short.
Wallace glanced back and forth between her and Kieran, a smile in his eyes. “Alright, whatever you want.”
Tamika had to let go and sat sulkily down next to Alarieka.
Kieran kept his eyes down, looking cold and indifferent, and picked up a green vegetable with his fork like he didn’t care at all.
Alarieka glanced at him.
Since she didn’t bother him at the dinner table like before, she hoped that he’d let go of what happened in the room earlier.
After all, she and Tamika had to stay with the Argents for now.
The Argent family was pretty much run by Kieran now. If they crossed him, they would be in hot water.

They hadn’t eaten much when Wallace piped up, “Kieran, are you confident about this trip to Birkwell?”
Kieran kept it short. “Yeah, I’ll get the job done.”
Wallace, who had brought him up, was naturally proud of him and nodded with a smile.
“Good. You’ve never let me down when it comes to business.”
Then he changed the subject. “But there’s another reason you’re going, right?”
Kieran didn’t answer right away. He paused for a few seconds, his voice deep and calm.
“Yeah. Rose has got some stuff going on that needs my help.”
When Kieran said Roschelle’s name, Alarieka was surprised that she didn’t feel upset or jealous. She actually felt pretty calm and could look at what was going on between them like she was watching from the outside.
Wallace thought for a bit and said, “Your thing with her…”
“Grandpa,” Kieran cut him off without any hesitation. “This is between her and me. No need to get anyone else involved.”
Alarieka had to admit that from Roschelle’s point of view, Kieran was a really good guy.
Roschelle had moved overseas for a few years for her job and school.
But Kieran still cared about her. All these years, he stayed clean and didn’t have any rumors around him.
Even though he and Alaricka had a baby together after being forced into a relationship, his heart still only belonged to Roschelle.
Chapter
Just like now, he wouldn’t let anyone talk about his relationship with Roschelle, not even his own grandpa.
Tamika pinched Alarieka’s thigh, trying to get her to show herself off in front of Kieran.
But Alarieka ignored her and kept eating with her head down.
Wallace looked at her again.
In the past, whenever they talked about Roschelle, she would look unhappy and tell Kieran to stop.
But now, she looked like she didn’t care at all.
Even Kieran, who usually ignored her, noticed that she was acting differently.
He gave a mocking smile.
Just a moment ago, Tamika told her to charm him. Why was she acting like this now?
Before Alarieka could put down her fork, Kieran stood up.
“I’ve got some company stuff to handle. Gotta go.”
It was 11 p.m., and Alarieka was already in bed.
Suddenly, she heard a car pull into the courtyard.
Kieran was back from working late.
She was about to drift off when there was a knock on her door.
She turned on the light and sat up, calling out, “Come in.”
