Chapter 1
Alaricka Huston’s husband, Kieran Argent, cheated on her.
His mistress, Roschelle Whitaker, ran over their daughter, Nina Argent, with her car.
The little girl was badly hurt and lost a lot of blood.
Alaricka begged her husband to save their daughter.
But he simply said, “Alarieka, you hurt Roschelle and her son! I will make you pay for this!” His eyes were full of panic as he carried Roschelle’s son towards the ambulance.
Alaricka felt dizzy and collapsed to the de
When she came to, the doctor told her that her daughter hadn’t made it.
Devastated, she burst into tears. When she confronted Kieran, he and Roschelle pushed her off the rooftop. She died from the fall.

Alarieka jolted awake in pain.
She looked around at the people and the place, and then she knew for sure that she had come back to life.
Sitting right in the middle of the sofa, Kieran’s grandfather, Wallace Argent, was staring hard at her.
Then he asked, voice rough and deep, “Alaricka, are you sure you want to go on that business trip to Birkwell with Kier?”
Chapter 1
Alaricka’s eyelashes fluttered a bit.
She remembered–this was the turning point in her last life.
Kieran’s so–called business trip to Birkwell had been a cover for meeting his first love. Roschelle.
When she found out, she had insisted on going too.
Her father had once been Wallace’s driver. After he died saving Wallace’s life, the Argents took her in as a gesture of gratitude. They raised her as one of their own and spoiled her rotten.
That was why Wallace had agreed to let her tag along on the trip last
time.
Alarieka turned to look at Kieran.
He was dressed in a tailored black suit, all buttoned up. He sat there with his legs crossed, looking detached. A few strands of hair fell over his face, hiding his cold eyes and lips that were always pressed together.
The moment she laid eyes on him, Alaricka felt like she couldn’t breathe. The memories came crashing down like a wave.
Her heart nearly stopped. A chill rushed through her veins.
This was the man who had controlled her life and treated her like dirt.
She hated him to the core.
All she could think about was how much he looked down on her and how
he made her feel bad..
Kieran looked more and more annoyed. His fingers were tapping slowly on his knee.

Chapter 1
Alarieka knew the signs well: he was losing patience, certain that she’d once again insist on going and cling to him.
But since she got a second chance at life, she wouldn’t make the same mistake.
However, before she could speak, her mother, Tamika Coldberg, said in an ingratiating tone, “Of course, she’s going. Alaricka and Mr. Argent are close. She follows him everywhere. She must go-”
“Forget it,” Alarieka interrupted softly.
Hearing this, everyone in the living room turned to look at her, except for Kieran, who remained as indifferent as ever.
She looked up at Wallace and said, her voice calm and steady, “I’ve got exams coming up soon and I gotta hit the books. I don’t want to get in the way of Kier’s work.”
Wallace looked a little surprised.
Tamika was so anxious that she gritted her teeth. She rushed over, grabbed Alaricka’s wrist, and said quietly, “Sir Argent, she’s being stupid. Don’t mind her. You know how much she wants to go.”
“Mom.” Alarieka pulled her wrist free. “I really just want to study.”
While Tamika was oblivious to the truth, Alarieka saw it plainly.
