She’d done the same thing when Justin and I
started dating.
Now she was going for Leo.
She clearly didn’t like them.
She liked me!
Finally, I snapped.
“You want to know what he does? He’s a garbage picker. So, anything else?”
Maisie was quiet.
<
“You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to.
Is that what you think of me? I think you’re.
getting distant.”
She was trying to trick me with friendship.
When she was hooking up with my boyfriend,
did she forget we were friends?
I wasn’t lying.
Thanks to my efforts, Leo was now a garbage-
picking teenager.
He was working hard at it, early in the morning
and late at night.
It was helping him get rich.
But there was no way he’d become a billionaire!
<
That night when Leo got home, I asked, “Do
you have any plans? You’re turning 18 soon.
You should start working on a business plan.”
Leo just looked at me like I was crazy. “Have you ever seen a homeless guy start a
business?”
Well… no.
Leo glanced at me. “Don’t worry, I’m making good money selling trash. I can take care of you.”
He should use it to pay back the money he
used to steal donuts.
Actually, it was nice to be with Leo.
He was quiet.
He was a good cook.
And he was handsome.
I could just look at him on the couch all day.
And best of all, now that I was away from the main characters, the annoying comments were
gone.
The story was all about the main characters.
So, nobody paid attention to people like me.
After a few peaceful days, it stopped.
I woke up one day and saw the comments again.
“Oh man, Maisie is a psycho. I get seducing her
dad’s assistant to steal secrets. But why
seduce her own dad?”
“I don’t even know what’s going on. I thought
Justin was the main guy? Now what’s up with
him?”
“Liv’s mom is gonna die in, like, half an hour.”
The last comment made me panic.
