Chapter90
“Matilda suggested taking you skiing to relax.”
Roderick suddenly spoke out.
Andrea suddenly looked up and met the man’s gaze, her heart pounding in her chest.
She forced a smile, looking nervous.
“Are you… are you okay with me going out with her?”
“The project was at a critical stage, I couldn’t leave.”
Roderick gently touched her blushing earlobe.
“Don’t worry, she wouldn’t dare to hurt you.”
Andrea bit her lower lip.
“But between us…I don’t want to go out alone with her.”
Her voice sounded hoarse, with a clear resistance.
“I’ll have Tyler arrange three times the security guards to follow along the whole time, Andie, don’t worry, nothing will happen for sure.”
Roderick held her hand, the warmth of his palm making her want to pull away.
“You’ve been feeling down lately, why not go out and take a break, relax a bit.”
Andrea lowered her eyelashes, hiding the emotions churning in her

eyes in the shadows.
After a while, she slowly spoke.
“Okay”
Roderick bent down and kissed her on the forehead.
“You rest well, I have to go back to continue working.”
“Okay, make sure you take care of yourself and don’t overwork.”
The moment the door closed, she turned over and buried her face in the pillow, her suppressed heartbeat pounding painfully in the silence.
This carefully planned “vacation” is finally about to begin, and she inust proceed with caution.
Skiing through the powdery snow, Andrea felt for the first time that her heart truly belonged to her.
She took off her goggles, and the white mist she exhaled froze into frost in the cold air.
Just took a break by the edge of the ski slope, when I caught sight of a glaring red shadow sliding down the slope.
Matilda was riding a pink snowboard, then she suddenly stopped half a meter away, and the snowflakes flew up and landed on her windproof jacket.
“You’re learning so well, Andrea.”
Matilda took off her ski goggles, her red lips curling in a mocking smile, her fingers painted with burgundy nail polish lightly tapping the ski pole.

“In a place like the snow mountain, it’s not like the greenhouse Roderick built for you. Avalanches, falls… it’s too easy for accidents to happen and someone to die.”
She bent down, the scent of perfume mixed with a chilling coldness hitting her face.
“What do you think Roderick’s reaction will be when he sees your body?”
Andrea lowered her gaze, wiped her goggles, paused for a moment with her fingertips, and suddenly chuckled.
“Can you convince him to let me go out with you? How many promises did you make in front of him?”
“If something happens to me here, can you take responsibility?”
Matilda’s hand with the ski pole was bulging with blue veins.
Andrea saw it and smiled even more.
“And…if I had died, Roderick would never forget me in his whole life. After all, in a man’s heart, what he can’t get will always be in turmoil.”
“By then, I had become the mole on his heart, where do you stand in the Hodgson family?”
In the distance, the sound of the patrol team’s walkie–talkie could be heard, and Matilda suddenly took a step back.
“Not so smug!”
“Andrea, you better keep your promise and leave Roderick. If you dare to play me, I won’t let you off the hook.”
Andrea raised her eyebrows slightly.

“Don’t worry, I will never break my promise.”
Andrea hit the slopes again.
