Chapter 52
In the video, the studio manager Darnell Sampson was rubbing his hands, “Their newly hired Deerhaven’s returning chief teacher, brought students to win the silver award at the Nolan Awards.”
Andrea enlarged the competitor’s advertising poster.
The font was embossed with “International teacher guidance, half–price trial class.”
My father used to hate this kind of commercial gimmick the most. He always said that art should be pure.
“Booked five plane tickets.”
She suddenly said, “Bring the core team over here for a two–week study tour, I contacted Professor Antonio Spence from the Royal Academy of Arts to give them special training.”
Darnell widened his eyes, “But the cost…”
“Do as I say.”
Andrea cut off the video and opened the email of the organizers of the International Youth Art Exhibition.
Her exhibition application has been sent three times, all of them have been read but not replied.
Instead of waiting indéfinitely like this, it’s better to take the initiative.
Thinking about it, she quickly tidied up and got ready to visit in
person.

Just as she was heading towards the front door, Roderick’s voice came from the staircase.
“Going out?”
He wore a black turtleneck sweater today, which made his skin look pale, and he was holding the car keys in his hand.
Andrea could tell that she was being watched every move, which made her wonder if there really were pinhole cameras set up by Roderick in the villa.
Judging by Roderick’s attitude, he probably wanted to give it to her.
“Yeah, went to the Arts Center.”
She lowered her head, tied her scarf, avoiding his gaze, “Made an appointment to discuss the art exhibition.”
Roderick walked up to her, with a faint smell of aftershave.
He reached out to help her adjust her collar, but Andrea subtly sidestepped and grabbed her bag, “Is Matilda’s leg feeling better?”
This sentence hit Roderick like a thorn.
His hand hung in the air, his eyes darkened, he didn’t answer her question, just said, “I’ll take you there.”
“No need.”
Andrea finally looked up, her voice showing no emotion: “If the Turner family knew that my fiance delayed their daughter’s medicine to take care of his sister, I couldn’t bear the responsibility.”
Roderick’s jawline suddenly tightened.

He grabbed her wrist forcefully, causing the scarf to fall to the ground, “Are you trying to pick a fight with me?”
Andrea let him hold her hand, “I’m not jealous at all. I’ve learned to control myself now. You should be happy.”
This sentence hit Roderick’s heart like a punch.
He let go of her hand, watching as she bent down to pick up the scarf, her slender neck shining white in the morning light.
He finally just said, “Come back early.”
Andrea didn’t relax her white–knuckled grip until she got into the taxi.
In the rearview mirror, a black Mercedes quietly caught up.
Roderick did send someone to follow her.
She gave a cold laugh, told the driver the address of the art gallery, but just as they were halfway there, she suddenly said, “Wait a minute.”
The driver asked, “What’s wrong, miss?”
Andrea said, “Go to the port area.”
“Miss, there’s construction going on over there,” the driver hesitated.
“I added money.” Andrea took out three large bills from her wallet.
“Alright miss!”
Then the driver stepped on the gas and quickly arrived at the destination.
She walked straight into the lobby and stopped outside the organizer’s office.

The secretary outside the door stopped Andrea, “Miss, what can I do for you?”
“I wanted to meet your boss.”
“Sorry, Mr. Maxwell was still in a meeting.”
