Chapter 50
Quinn hit the back of his head on the fire hydrant and chuckled, “Way more qualified than you think.”
This answer made Roderick’s pupils shrink suddenly.
The two of them exchanged punches in a cramped space.
“Roderick!” Andrea’s voice came from upstairs.
The two of them separated instantly, with one going in front and the other following back to the ward.
Andrea looked up and saw Quinn’s bleeding wound on his cheekbone, with his white shirt collar stained with spotty blood.
She was about to get up, and Roderick had already stridden over to her bed, grabbing her shoulder.
“Get out.” Roderick’s voice was low and his back teeth were clenched tightly.
Quinn rubbed the corner of his mouth with his thumb, looked down and saw the blood on his fingertip, then chuckled, “Mr. Hodgson really played dirty.”
When he spoke, it tugged at the wound and he let out a soft “hiss.”
Andrea pulled away from Roderick’s hand, handed Quinn a tissue, and asked, “Did you guys fight?”
“Let’s spar,” Quinn took the tissue, lightly brushed her fingertips on the back of her hand.

Roderick suddenly grabbed Quinn by the collar and pushed him against the wall, knocking over the IV stand with a loud crash.
The alarm at the nurse’s station went off immediately.
“I’ll say it one last time,” Roderick’s voice was icy, “Get out.”
Quinn didn’t flinch, instead he leaned in closer and said, “How does it feel to have three broken ribs? Must be really tough to endure, huh?”
Roderick looked at the wounds on his face and snorted, “You’re talking about yourself.”
“What’s going on?” The doctor on duty rushed in with the security guard.
Quinn immediately raised his hands and stepped back, saying, “Sorry, I didn’t stand firm.”
When he turned to Andrea, his right eye was already starting to swell due to bruising. “Take good rest, I’ll come see you another day.”
Roderick grabbed him by the collar and said, “You motherfucker, try that again.”
“Roderick!”
Andrea picked up a pillow and threw it at his back, “What’s gotten into you!”
During this gap, Quinn straightened out his wrinkled shirt, and before leaving, he glanced back at Roderick’s pale lips.
After the door to the ward was closed, Roderick suddenly bent over and grabbed onto the bed rail.
“You…” Andrea frowned.

He sat up straight, pressed the call bell with a dark expression, and said, “Change the ward.”
“I’m fine, I’ll be better soon,” Andrea just had low blood sugar, didn’t need to stay in the hospital for too long.
Roderick grabbed her wrist and said, “Stay away from Quinn in the future.”
“Okay.” She replied briskly, lowering her head to adjust the sleeve of the patient gown.
This reaction actually made Roderick squint.
He pinched her chin to make her look up, but all he saw were her calm eyes, no longer stubborn as before, and without hidden anger.
“Such a good listener?” he ran his thumb over her pale lips.
Andrea suddenly laughed, “So what? Is it useful to argue with you?”
Roderick felt a sudden tightness in his chest, couldn’t figure out where this weird feeling came from. The nurse had already wheeled in to do the discharge procedures.
On the way home, Andrea kept looking out of the car window until we passed by the second–floor guest room.
The room Matilda always stayed in.
“Disgusting,” she muttered.
Roderick, who was walking ahead, suddenly turned around and said, “What?”
Andrea smoothed out the nonexistent wrinkles on her skirt, “I mean, the smell of hospital disinfectant is really gross.”
