“William, I have an idea.”
Seeing William sulking, one of his friends chimed in with a new plan. “Sera’s family lives in that fishing village, right? Her dad has a boat. They’re always out on the water.”
“Why don’t we go down there, give her dad some money, and charter their boat for the day?”
These rich kids were used to chartering luxury yachts for their parties. But they knew what William was really after, and they were trying to cater to him. Fishing was just an excuse; seeing Seraphina was the real goal..
William scoffed. “Their rickety old fishing boat? Aren’t you afraid it’ll capsize?”
But despite his words, the group set off for the village.
When William saw Seraphina busy on the fishing boat, his vision nearly went black.
The girl who had always looked so sweet and demure at school was now wearing dirty overalls, wielding a massive fishing gaff, and spearing fish
with startling accuracy.
She was a wild thing.
“Damn, she’s fierce.”
“Intense.”
“Hey William, imagine if she threw that gaff at us. We’d be goners.”
William’s eyes were fixed on the slender yet powerful figure on the boat. He shot his friend a glare. “She’d spear you first.”
