Chapter 6 Her Dignity
The second before she was about to fall to the floor, a strong arm wrapped her slender waist and pulled her back gently. In the blink of an eye, she landed in a solid embrace.
Still dizzy, she subconsciously clutched his shirt, her body pressed against his tightly.
Through the thin fabric, she could almost feel his sexy muscles, which contained endless power like iron wrapped in velvet.
“Are you this frail?”
Hearing Vincent’s deep, mocking voice, she snapped out of it and quickly let go and straightened up.
“I… I’m not frail at all. I was the sprint champion every year back at school.”
Vincent squinted, his gaze icy.
“So, you did this on purpose.”
She wanted to seduce him.
It wasn’t the first time she tried. He still remembered what had happened in the elevator.
Madeleine choked up at his words.
She felt so wronged!

“I suddenly felt so dizzy just now–it was probably because of the pregnancy. I’d never dare to seduce you.”
Vincent didn’t buy it at all.

He was the chosen one, and countless women tried to throw themselves at him. Madeleine’s tricks were so lame.
“Know your place. You’re just a tool, and a replaceable one no less. Daydreaming wouldn’t do you any good.”
His icy tone sent a chill down Madeleine’s spine.
A tool?
A replaceable one?
This was so insulting!
Her pride was severely hurt!
Clenching her fists on both sides, she was seething with rage.
She blurted out, “Mr. Romero, I may be an ordinary employee, but I do have dignity. If I’m just a tool, what does that make your babies? Don’t forget that they have half of my genes too.”
Vincent frowned in displeasure.
The tool’s genes were completely insignificant!
With a slight push, he pressed her against the wall.
“Are you threatening me with the babies?”
Madeleine’s pride was wounded, and her rationality was burned to ashes

Being more courageous than ever, she said firmly, “I hope you can respect me. If you can’t, then I won’t be a tool anymore. I might as well get an abortion!”
She was challenging him.
A cold glint flashed across his eyes, which turned icy at once.
He gripped her chin and said in a low voice, “I’m warning you. If you dare to do anything to the babies, I’ll make sure you regret it.”
With that, he squeezed just hard enough to make her wince without causing any physical injury.
She gritted her teeth. “Rest assured. As long as you show me enough respect, I’ll give birth to the twins. Also, I have someone I love, and he’s the one I’ll ever love. So, you have nothing to worry about.”
Then she shoved his hand away with great force and ran out.
As Vincent stared at her retreating figure, his gaze turned even deeper, consuming all lights.
He had thought she was a coward, yet here she was, challenging him.
In fact, she regretted it the second she strode out.
She thought, “Gosh! What was I thinking? Why would I say that?
“Why would I risk my job?”
She couldn’t help but smack her lips a few times.
She really shouldn’t let her anger get the best of her. From now on, she

wouldn’t say anything impulsively again.
But she wasn’t planning on going back to apologize.
Because she didn’t say anything wrong.

Reaching the elevator, she suddenly felt sick and couldn’t help but cover her mouth and start to retch.
Just then, Madilyn happened to walk out of the elevator and spotted her at
once.
Madilyn rushed over and grabbed her arm at once. “What’s going on? You had an abortion, right? How come you’re retching?”
