Chapter 6
How could this be a terrifying scar? It was clearly a breathtakingly beautiful face.
His eyebrows swept elegantly toward his temples, his nose was straight and sharp as if sculpted, but most captivating were his eyes–amber pupils that seemed to hold the entire galaxy, with a small teardrop mole at the corner of his left eye that added an enchanting allure.
Even Marcus would pale in comparison to his face.
I stared in fascination, my heart skipping a beat.
He frantically searched for his mask. “Did I scare you?”
I pulled him to the mirror. “Look, you’re so handsome.”
He froze at his reflection in the mirror.
Suddenly, he shot up from his seat, both legs standing firmly on the ground.
We locked eyes, and he swept me up in his arms, spinning me around. “Zoe! I’m healed!”
He pulled me into the dining room, his voice trembling with excitement. “Dad! Grandma!”
The old woman’s bread fell to the floor.
She tremblingly caressed Ryan’s perfectly healed face and legs, tears streaming down her cheeks. “Our ancestors are watching over us. Zoe

Ryan’s father examined him for a moment, then whispered something in
his ear.
Ryan’s ears immediately turned red down to his neck.
It turned out the Mitchell family’s ancestral medical records revealed that his poison could only be neutralized through a woman acting as a catalyst, with the union of husband and wife as the medium. Our coupling last night had, by chance, dissolved the toxins that had accumulated in his body for years.
Sunlight filled the dining room, and his smile was more radiant than the sun itself. I knew that from now on, he would never need that mask again.
After Ryan recovered, the entire Mitchell household was filled with joy.
He treated me extremely well, not only buying a luxury cruise ship but also specially building a garden villa for me.
He took my hand and said, “When I was little, people would throw stones at me at parties.
“Only you weren’t afraid of my ugliness and even helped me fight off those boys from other families.”
My heart was filled with emotion. No wonder he’d shown me that one act of kindness before I died in my previous life. But back then he was in a wheelchair, and after wiping my face through the dog cage, he was beaten out by Marcus.
I heard that after the wedding, Marcus returned to the Aldridge family and was severely punished. Not only did he return the eight million dollars he took, but he had to compensate even more.

This caused the Aldridge family’s stock market to crash, losing over 160
million dollars.
His father was so furious he broke his legs. Meanwhile, his and Stella’s scandals spread throughout New York. Marcus’s stepmother already despised his birth mother, and now she forced Stella to abort the child. To protect the baby, Stella disappeared without a trace.
I didn’t expect to see Marcus again so soon.
That day I went to the club to pick up Ryan, I ran into Marcus in the hallway, standing outside a private room with a pale face. Inside came Stella’s piercing laughter.
Through the slightly open door, I saw Stella sitting with her legs crossed, swirling a wine glass in her hand.
“Stella, why haven’t you been with that Aldridge guy lately?”
“Marcus?” She snorted. “He’s just a useless illegitimate son! If it weren’t for his decent looks and his delusion about being the Aldridge heir, I wouldn’t bother with him!”
“What about the baby…” her friend asked quietly.
“Ha!” Stella rolled her eyes. “What baby? I was faking it! I originally wanted to get some benefits from it, but who knew he’d be so useless he couldn’t even handle Zoe!”
She took a sip of wine and continued mockingly, “I heard his birth mother was just some crazy woman who got beaten by his stepmother in the street. I’d never have a child for the spawn of a lunatic!”
Marcus clenched his fists tightly, frozen like a statue in place, even his breathing seemed to stop.

“In a few days. I’ll tell him I had a miscarriage.” Stella smugly swirled her wine glass. “Anyway, this kind of scum…”
She suddenly lowered her voice to say something that made her friend giggle.
