“Are we gonna see sharks?” Mia asked, bouncing excitedly.
“Possibly!” I chuckled, pulling her close as we sailed away, the
stunning cityscape growing smaller in the distance.
By the time we returned to the hotel, Mia was barely keeping
her eyes open. We gave her a quick bath before Asher turned
to me with a satisfied sigh. “What a day.””

He pressed a kiss to my forehead. “We should do this more
often. I don’t think I’ve ever seen you this happy”
I linked my pinkie with his. “Promise me that no matter what
happens when we go back, we won’t let it steal this from us.”

The next morning felt oddly quiet. When I woke up, the bed
was empty–Asher was nowhere to be seen, and the usual
morning routine of Mia jumping on us was noticeably absent. A

After a quick shower, I stepped out of the bedroom and
immediately spotted them in the living room.
Asher was seated next to Grace, along with a man I assurned
was the Alpha of their pack. The sight of them sitting so
comfortably together irked me.
As soon as Asher saw me, he motioned for me to join them. I
plastered on a polite smile, though I had no intention of
pretending to enjoy this meeting.
“Good morning, my queen,” Grace greeted me enthusiastically.

Yesterday, you had no problem showing respect, so I wonder
what changed overnight.”

I shook his hand and gave Asher a sideways glance. “How

little space away from here, and my sister doesn’t trust anyone
but you, Asher. You’re the only one I can rely on.”

dropping cold, “Maybe if you hadn’t spent your entire stay
being openly disrespectful toward my mate, this conversation
would be different. But considering you’ve been nothing but a
thorn in her side, I have no interest in taking you anywhere

I owed him anything. But that didn’t mean you get to put my

Everyone stared at him with wide eyes, including me. I thought
he didn’t notice how much a bitch Grace had been acting, but

bag. We are leaving!” I didn’t want to spend another second
with these people in the same room.

and I have a history. We used to be very close. It’s just a short
