Asher remained quiet, his expression unreadable. He wasn’t
offering me any false reassurances, and I appreciated that.
Philip narrowed his eyes. “You sound awfully sure they’ll get a
death sentence.”
“If this were any other situation, the Alpha King wouldn’t have
hesitated to execute them directly. But Asher and I… we’re tied
to them in ways that make this complicated. That’s why we
called for a trial–to make sure the decision isn’t based on
impulse, but on justice.”
Jayden’s calm composure was gone now. He looked frustrated
and angry, “So you already killed them in your heart.”
“They’ve done horrible things to me and Asher. They tried to
kill our mates, and they caused the death of a lot of people,
including the former Alpha King. I won’t pretend I can ever
forgive them. They deserve more than a minor punishment.”
Jayden’s jaw clenched “Then you are right about one thing–we are done. No matter how this ends, our relationship won’t
survive it!
A sharp pang hit my chest, But I forced myself to smile. “I figured as much”

When we came back to the throne room, the air in the chamber
was heavy with the weight of what was coming.
“Is there anything you wish to say before sentencing?” Lara, the young but powerful judge, gathered everyone’s attention by asking. It was rare for a beautiful and young she–wolf to
possess such power. There must be something unusual about
her.
Kylie stepped forward, her voice wavering as she looked at me, “Violet. I regret everything I did. If I could undo it, I would. But Michael. he was only being used. If anyone deserves

I stared at her, searching for any sign of lies. Was this just
another manipulation, or was she truly felt sorry? A part of me
wanted to believe her. But another part–one that had been
burned too many times–refused to.

“I don’t know if I have forgiveness left in me, Kylie,” I admitted.
“Because every time I put my trust in someone, they betray me.
And the same goes for you, Michael.”
My heart was torn. A part of me felt relieved that she plead for
Michael’s innocence. But it didn’t erase the memory of him
standing over me with a gun, finger hovering over the trigger.
Isaac stood beside them, stubborn and proud as always. He
simply said, “I won’t beg, but I wish things had been different. If
there’s one thing I can ask, it’s that you look after my parents.“”
Maybe he knew that what he had done was beyond
forgiveness. And he would always hate Asher. So he didn’t even
bother to plead for mercy.
Finally it was Michael’s turn. His gaze locked onto me as he said
my brothers, “Please take care of Violet.our only sister. I owe
her so much.”
I forced myself not to react. Seeing Michael like this, broken and
defeated, wasn’t satisfying. It was just… empty.
