Chapter 8
They’d been searching for a month but still came up empty–handed. The happiest person by far was Rebecca, who lived more comfortably than ever with me gone and gradually started claiming my belongings as her own.
One day when Nathan came home defeated again, he found Rebecca sitting in our bedroom wearing my pajamas and using my skincare products. When she spotted his reflection in the mirror, she playfully winked at him.
“Nathan, come here and help me put my hair up.”
She extended her delicate fingers and tried to seduce him just like old times, but she was so overconfident that she missed how dark Nathan’s expression had turned.
The next second, he dragged her out of the room and threw all those bottles and jars at her: “Since you want them so badly, take them!“[]
Rebecca got hit in the face and turned bright red with rage: “Nathan Atlante, do you think I’m some beggar? I don’t want this junk!“[]
She kicked one of the containers at her feet, and the noise made Nathan’s head pound. He finally reached his breaking point and pointed toward the front door: “Did you not hear me tell you to get out? I already found you an apartment–why are you still hanging around here like a parasite?“]
Rebecca screamed back: “I’m not leaving! This is my home!“]
You’re just taking out your anger on me because Jessica won’t come back! What kind of man are you?”
“Hahaha, let me tell you something–she’s never coming back! The
what you get for being greedy. That night when we were together, Jessica saw the whole thing!“[]
Nathan’s head buzzed like a snapped wire, and by the time he came to his senses, he’d already slapped Rebecca to the ground.[]
Rebecca was stunned, holding her face in disbelief. At that moment, Nathan’
of love for her completely died.[]
He looked down at her the same way he’d looked at me three years ago
and
coldly called security to drag her out.
When the butler tried to intervene, Nathan’s words stopped him cold: “If you don’t want to work here, you can leave too.”
.“]
All the servants held their breath, understanding that Rebecca was completely finished. Even Hunter stopped caring about her, letting her waste away in various bars.[]
Another month passed, and Hunter came running to Nathan with excitement. By then Nathan was on the verge of giving up–over eighty days and nights had left him mentally and physically exhausted.
But Hunter brought good news: “I hacked into Dad’s email and found Jessica’s address!“]]
