I looked at the prices of the clothes and I opened my eyes in shock. What was Tony thinking! I didn’t have the kind of money to pay for such clothes.
I ended up picking two pairs of shorts and two T–shirts. I loved putting on shorts. It was easier to move around like that.
The saleslady looked at me and shook her head. “There are beautiful dresses over here. Do you want to take a look?” She
asked.
But shook my head at her, “No,” I said. “I’m fine.”
I didn’t even have the money to pay for the ones I had taken. Even though I felt guilty, I was thinking of asking Tony for some advance salary when he came back.
Luckily, I didn’t wait for so long. Tony came back less than one hour later.
He seemed too surprised to see me waiting on the bench. “Are you done already?” He asked.
I nodded. I didn’t understand why he seemed surprised.
However, the saleslady rushed towards us. “I tried to convince her to look at the dresses but she wouldn’t listen. Look at this one. It will look so good on her,” she said, putting a beautiful red dress in front of me.

“Um. I’m fine.” I said. That dress cost more than half of my monthly salary.

“Pack the dress for her,” Tony suddenly said, and I opened my eyes wide.
“Okay” the saleslady said happily. “Your boyfriend has a great taste.
I wanted to tell her that he wasn’t my boyfriend, but my boss. But Tony spoke before I did.

Tony ignored me and took my other bags. He looked at them and seemed surprised again. “You prefer shorts?” He asked.
I nodded again. It was getting difficult being around him. He was behaving like my dad.

pay me later if you don’t feel comfortable with me buying them for you,” he said dismissively.
I could only sigh. He knew I couldn’t afford that much, yet he still did it..
‘Maybe I could keep the dresses and return them later, I thought. It was useless arguing with him.
While I was absentminded, Tony took all the bags. When I looked back at him, he was putting his card back in his pocket.
“Let’s go,” he said.
But I couldn’t move. “Um, sir.” I called in embarrassment. “I should be carrying those.”
He looked at the bags for a second before handing me two of them. “Those should be enough, he said and walked out.
I didn’t understand his behavior at all. Wasn’t he the same man that wanted to kill me just a few days ago? Why was he behaving like a gentleman all of a sudden?
I sighed and ran after him. I didn’t care much about what he did. What I cared most about was the fact that I was safe around
