“Was it all because of Rivert
Is this why he urged me to turn back time?‘
The realization hit me like a thunderclap Rowan’s actions, his choices–they were beginning to make sense in a way I had never considered before.

Our son

Chapter 14
I sat on my throne. Although my expression was calm and composed, deep inside, my thoughts churned endlessly. Like the wheels that non–stop rotating, the events of last night kept on replaying in my mind… vivid and unrelenting.
What a surprise, I thought to myself, recalling Rowan’s unexpected role in my life.
you were savior all along!
“In my last life, I thought you held nothing but disdain and indifference toward me. Yet.
Those gentle hands the warm embrace and respectful kisses. Even if one lifetime had passed, I would never forget them. I would never mistake
them with another.
‘Sot was really you all along.“1 felt a small smile tug at my lips.
The revelation still left me shaken, but not in a bad way. It was a strange kind of comfort to know the truth, to finally see things for what they were.
“And to think you’re River’s father…”
My gare drifted downward, settling on my belly. Though it was far too early to show, I could already feel it–the faint, delicate energy gathering inside me. It was subtle, but unmistakable. A tiny life was forming. My smile softened as my fingers brushed gently over my allomen.
In my past life, I hid my pregnancy. I hid my son.
The thought brought a familiar pang of sorrow and regret River had been born with the same golden eyes I possessed–a gift of the Moon Goddess‘ divinity. Those eyes marked him as the rightful heir to the throne, the King of the Wolves.
But the poison I’d endured during my first pregnancy had taken its toll River had been born blind, a cruel twist that turned his divine eyes into a
The kingdom would never have accepted a “defective” heir. They would have hunted him down, destroyed him.
And so, I’d hidden him. I’d tucked him away in the safety of my parents‘ park, far from prying eyes and dangerous hands.
“But not this time.
My hand pressed more firmly against my belly as resolve coursed through me.
“This time, the toxins are gone. My body is whole. River will be born strong, untainted‘ ‘And this time, I won’t hide him.”
My lips curled into a smirk, sharp and determined.
111 hold him close. And when the time comes, I’ll introduce him to the world–not as a secret, but as the kingdom’s rightful successor. The smile on any face turried deeper. In the cold throne room, seated at the harsh throne, for the first time since I returned, I felt warm and happy.
Suddenly, my thoughts were interrupted by the sound of approaching footsteps. A guard hurriedly appeared at the entrance of the throne room, bowing deeply.
“Your Majesty, Lord Silas has arrived,” he announced.
Instantly, my warin expression vanished, replaced by a mask of cold indifference.
The very name filled me with an icy haired. Straightening my posture, I allowed my gaze to harden
“Let him in,” I said, my voice steady, betraying nothing-
The doors opened, and Silas strode in confidently, followed by several council members, servants, and of course–Ael, who trailed after him like a loverch puppy
The way they hovered around him, whispering and hanging on his every move, you’d think he was the king and not me, the one seated on the

Tpw bold of you, Silas.’ I thought, narrowing my eyes as I watched him approach
He stopped at the foot of my throne, his gaze locking onto mine. For a brief moment, something flickered across his face–surprise, perhaps, or curiosity! He studied me intently, as though trying to decipher a puzzle
Are you surprised that I am still alive and in perfect health? I met his gaze head–on, my expression unwavering: “Oh I want to butcher you to set you in flames until I hear your screann. What lovely sound that must be.

of cut off fast when
Different scenarios appeared in my mind, each and everyone of them involved torturing Silas. Unfortunately, my thoughts got cut after just a moment of silence, Silas finally spoke.
“I’m glad to see you’re feeling better, my lady,” he said, his toe gentle, almost sollicitous.
The audacity of his words made my blood boil.
How dare he speak to nu
to me as if he had left me for dead?
My eyes narrowed. “Oh, much better,” I said, each word lacril with venom, “but not thanks to you” I let my anger seep into my voice.
The air in the room inmediately grew heavy, the tensions palpable. The people behind Silas all looked at me, surprised flickered in their eyes. They probably were thinking how could someone, who was so calm and quiet, suddenly mapped at their lord.
Hch, my eyes turned colder and colder.
Hoween, if Silas was caught off guard, he didn’t show it. Instead, a suulle spread across his face–a rare sight that startled me,
I raised a brow. In my past life, Salas had always been stoic, his expression cold and unchanging no matter the circumstance. But now, there was something different in his eyes–a spark of interest that sent a chill down my spine.
“What
are you playing at, Silas”
Then, his voice dropped, smooth and practiced. “That’s impossible, my lady. You know I would do anything for you..including giving up my life to
ensure your comfort.
Around us, murmurs immediately broke out among the servants and council members
“What’s going on?” one whispered.
“Is there something between the queen and Lord Silast another asked, her tone full of intrigue.
“The lord is someone who wouldn’t say those words in jest. There must be something between them!” Immediately, speculations of our romance spread
Arl, who was just looking like a kvesick puppy, had her face flushed red, her jealousy unmistakable.
Meanwhile, i felt nothing but disgust. Silas was playing a dangerous game, planting seeds of doubt and rumor among the court.
“Are you trying to imitate Rowan? To nuke rumors about our involvement? My heart tuned cold. ‘If you have said those words in my past life. I would be over the moon. But after everything. Hearing those sweet words from you… Made me feel like throwing up
“This time, I would not give you anything. I would no longer even give you the satisfaction of seeing my anger. Thus, I forced a charming unile on my face.
“Oh? Is that so!” I said lightly, my voice sounded nonchalantly.
“Well, I’m glad to hear you’re willing to fulfill your duty as the head of my
relainers”
My words were pointed and clear. I am his queen, and he is nothing but my retaliter. There was nothing more to think about. His place now was no other thun beneath me. And soon, it would be deep in my deepest, and darkest prison.
Silas heard my message loud and clear. His smile faltered for the briefest moment. But as if it did not affect him, he still respectfully bowed deeply
“Of course, my lady” He replied.
I stared at his form. He was kneeling with one knee, bowing to me respectfully. My eyes flashed.
I did not let him rise unmediately. Instead, I let the silence stretch, the weiglu of my authority pressing down on

“Oli, speaking of which,” I said, my tone castial, as if I have not intentionally ignored Silas, “Alpha Rowan left in such a hurry before the festivities ended. It’s because a lot of you failed to give him a proper welcome” As I mentioned Rowan’s name, my tone inuediately turned softer
I let my words linger, noting the nervous glances exchanged among the staff
“Well, hurry,” I continued. “Bring me a pen and paper. I shall extend an invitation to him once more—this time as the queen’s personal visitor,“ said with a bright smile
Out of the corner of my eye, I caught the flicker of something in Silas‘ expression. But, I didn’t care.

I had made my move, and now it was time to see how Rowan and Silas would respond to the game I’d set in motion.
