In the past, since I acted coldly, though they did not have true respect for me, they still maintained their distance, showing their fake respect Looking at the council member who was looking at me with eyes full of lust and desire, I could not help but frown. I knew his face well.

But what bothered me more than his words was the silence of the room.
The other alphas, nobles, and council members looked on, some with frowns, others with shock, but not one stepped forward to stop him. Not one voice called out to defend their queen.

And without waiting for my response, he reached for my hand.
I nearly laughed–cold, bitter laughter that threatened to spill over. He dared. He dared. Fire roared in my veins, ready to burst forth. I would not be disrespected, not by a fool like him. The moment his hand would touch rhy arm, his entire body would be on fire until he was nothing but dust.
But just as his hand was about to touch mine, another intervened.

The voice was deep, smooth, and dangerously alluring. It carried across the hall like a dark melody, commanding immediate attention.
A hand shot out, gripping Cus’s wrist with a strength that made the arrogant alpha wince. Slowly, the figure behind him stepped into view.
Tall and striking, with midnight–black hair that fell effortlessly into place, he was a vision of both beauty and menace. His chiseled features seemed almost otherworldly, and his dark eyes glimmered like stars against a shadowed sky. There was a playful smirk on his lips, but it only added to his aura of danger.
Instead of looking like the God of Beauty, he was more like a captivating, beautiful devil who appeared to play around.

Alpha Gus froze, his face a mixture of confusion and fear. He tried to pull his arm away, but Rowan’s grip rightened, holding him firmly in place.
“Moreover,” Rowan continued, his dark eyes narrowing, rouching my date could get your entire pack razed to the ground.”
Gasps rippled through the crowd. Gus’s face turned red with rage and embarrassment, but he couldn’t hide the fear in his eyes.
“You lie!” he spat, though his voice wavered. The queen–your date! Impossible!”
Without caring what he would destroy, he began to gather his power, the air around him crackling with energy as he prepared to shift into his wolf form. Wind swirled, the ground trembling beneath him. The guests closest to him backed away in alarm, whispers of panic spreading through the

“Let’s not ruin the evening. Like you said the night is still young.” he said, his voice calm, almost mocking. With a slight flick of his wrist, he sent a wave of power rippling through Gus’s body.
Alpha Gus‘ energy dissipated instantly, leaving him weak and trembling. He collapsed to the floor, his face pale and drenched in sweat.
A collective gasp echoed through the hall. Alpha Gus, a powerful alpha and council member, had been subdued with a mere flick of Rowan’s hand.
How powerful How terrifyingly powerful. The more I watched Rowan, the more I felt good. My eyes twinkled as I watched him with satisfaction and amusement. Rowan probably felt my eyes on him. He turned to me then, his dark eyes meeting mine for the first time that night. The intensity of his gaze sent a shiver down my spine, as though he were peering into the very depths of my soul
