Chapter 21 Abortion
He let go of my chin, not exerting any force. However, I felt a
sharp pain from my chin to my heart.
Even my toes were curled up from the pain.

His strong arms from the years of exercising held me tightly. I could clearly feel his muscles as I leaned against his chest. I was weak now, and I did not want to have a fight with him. So, I just closed my eyes.
“Well, you’re getting bolder. You even know how to play dead now!” His mocking voice sounded in my ears. The rage in his tone was still apparent.
He patted my cheeks hard repeatedly. However, I did not feel well, so I kept my eyes shut.
Maybe he finally felt guilty. He carried me back to the bedroom after seeing that I did not respond.
After he put me on the bed, there was no noise.
I thought he just didn’t want to pay attention to me. However,
after some time, I heard him calling Lanny. It sounded as if he
was asking Lanny to come check on me.
So, he was not that ruthless after all.
After about ten minutes, I fell asleep. Still in a daze, I heard
Lanny speaking.
“Trystan, you’d better think about how you want to deal with
the child.”
It’s getting late. Go back and get some rest.” Trystan sounded quite impatient.
Sometimes, I pitied Lanny. He was a famous doctor anyway. How did he feel about being bossed around by Trystan?
I was tired from running around the whole day, so I fell into a deep sleep.
Late at night, I could sense someone pulling me in an embrace. I tried to open my eyes but failed.
The next day.
When I woke up, Trystan was not at the villa. I knew that he
must have gone to visit Janet.
I had made an appointment with Grayson the day before, so I headed straight to the hospital after freshening up.
Amanda, who knew about my schedule, had been waiting at the hospital entrance. At the sight of me, she asked worriedly, “Are you sure you want to abort the child? Are you not going to
discuss it with Mr. Compton first?”
I understood she was just looking out for me. Smiling, I went
into the hospital building with her. “It’ll be alright. Don’t worry
about me.“”
Chapter 21 Abraban
Grayson had arranged for a doctor to do the surgery. I did all the
basic checkups before it. After they confirmed there was
nothing wrong, I got into the operating room.
Amanda was very anxious, and she kept advising me against
the abortion. “Mrs. Compton, even though you’re young, this
will damage your body. Have you thought it over?”
I nodded. It was time for the surgery. I patted her arm and
comforted her. “It will be fine.”
I followed a nurse into the operating room. The doctor was a
middle–aged woman. She said the moment she saw me, “Mrs. Compton, I’m going to give you general anesthesia. You’ll be
unconscious soon, and there won’t be any pain. Don’t be
nervous.”
I nodded. Just as she said, I quickly drifted off.
I was in a hospital bed when I woke up.
Trystan was looking at me with surly eyes. His thin lips were tightly pursed. The atmosphere in the room sent chills down my spine. Anger and coldness filled his eyes.
I had never seen him like this before. My heart lurched.
Subconsciously, I reached out to him, but he shook my hand off violently.

I opened my lips to say something but did not know what to say.
Looking away from his scary eyes, I closed my eyes and decided
to keep silent.
“Evie, you heartless woman!” He turned around and left.
This was the best end. I sighed as I watched his figure getting
out of my sight.
“Are you not afraid Mr. Compton will hate you for this, Ms.
Carson?” A deep voice came from the doorway. It was Grayson.
He held my medical records in his hands, checking on my
condition. “I mean, he is the child’s father anyway. You can fool.
him this time, but you can’t fool him forever. He’ll know about it
sooner or later.”
I smiled and sat up on the bed. Taking the medical records from
Grayson’s hand, I glanced at them. “I won’t do it again. Thank
you for helping me.“”
I prepared to get out of bed and leave after putting my medical
records away. However, I was stopped by Grayson. “Since
you’re putting on a show, why don’t you keep your story
consistent? When have you ever seen a woman walk not even
half an hour after having an abortion?”
He was right.
I lay back down on the bed and looked at Grayson, saying, “Well, Trystan is very suspicious, so he’ll probably send
someone to check on my medical records and keep an eye on
- me. I’d appreciate your help then, Foster.”
A smile crossed his aged face as he said resignedly, “I can’t understand young people these days. Why did you guys have to
ruin your peaceful marriage? But since I’ve agreed to help you with this, I’ll deal with the rest of it properly.”
I nodded and thanked Grayson. “Please tell Mrs. Foster to keep it
a secret.” It was best to hide this from as many people as
possible.
Grayson nodded with a smile and said nothing before leaving.
I lay on the bed for the morning. Then, the doctor came in to
brief me on things to take note of, and I took my medicine. After
that, I left the hospital.
Ann was waiting for me at the hospital entrance. She helped me
into the car as I looked at her and said, “Try to let Janet know
I’ve had an abortion.”
She nodded, started the car, and took me back to the villa.
Trystan was not around. I sent Ann back to the office. There
was nothing much to do since I had just been discharged from
However, before I fell asleep, I heard the sound of an engine downstairs. I walked onto the balcony and saw Trystan and
Lanny.
Just as I expected, Trystan did not even glance at me. He just
asked Lanny to check on me.
I got on the bed, Lanny came in with his kit. At the sight of me,
he frowned and gestured for me to let him check on me.
“Have you brought the medicine I want?” I reached out my hand
and looked at him.
Lanny glanced at me and said, “Your cover–up plan is smart.”
I didn’t respond. He gave me a quick check, took some medicine
out of his kit, and said, “This is all medicine to keep the child
healthy. If you take it regularly and there’s no mishap, the child
will be fine.”
After giving some instructions, Lanny went downstairs. I
swapped out the medicine that he gave me with the ones I
brought back from the hospital. Then, I lay back on the bed.
I had to take at least a week off to fully recover from the
“abortion“. There was no problem with postponing Grayson’s
project for a week. However, it would feel terrible to stay at the
villa for one week.
