Chapter 11
No one knew how Jessica managed to return to the country when she was supposed to be overseas.
Her entire body was marked with scars, and her clothes were torn and disheveled, making her look quite pitiful.
After striking Oliver, she turned toward me and even knelt right in front of me.
“Ms. Mabre, I know I’ve wronged you, but I have nothing left. Without Oliver, I have no means to survive.
“I’ve had three abortions for him and can no longer have children. If he leaves me, I’m completely ruined.”
Oliver’s eyes widened in shock, and he quickly pushed her away.
I laughed coldly and said, “Indeed. I hope you’ll keep your man close and prevent him from seeking me out again.
“However, you can’t escape the consequences of what you did to me abroad.”
With that, I walked away, leaving behind the sounds of the two arguing and shoving each other.
Oliver relentlessly harassed me, despite no one knowing Jessica’s whereabouts after he sent her away.
His company teetered on the brink of bankruptcy due to numerous setbacks, yet he continued to employ deceitful strategies.

He unearthed old photos of us together, hoping to rekindle lost feelings, and personally made my favorite desserts–delivering them daily to the gate of the villa where Damon and I lived.
I was completely exasperated.
Meanwhile, Damon escalated his efforts against the Galley Group, aiming to push it into full bankruptcy.
Soon, various rumors surfaced online, revealing allegations of Oliver’s suspected crimes abroad.
“The Galley Group CEO’s Attempted Spousal Murder”
“Oliver Galley’s Crimes Abroad”
“Oliver Galley’s Affair with First Love, Conspiring to Seize Ex–Wife’s Assets”
Under pressure from both public opinion and the business sector, the Galley Group completely collapsed and filed for bankruptcy.
Oliver approached me, kneeling with a look of anguish.
“Amy, you put so much effort into that company too. Are you really so ruthless as to destroy it?”
His eyes, bloodshot and full of despair, seemed on the brink of tears.
“Amy, why won’t you trust me? I love you. I know I realized it too late, but I genuinely regret it. Even if you destroyed the company, everything can still be yours if you just forgive me.”
I shrugged and narrowed my eyes at him.
“We’re not finished yet, Oliver. Did you honestly think I’d stop here?”

Oliver lowered his gaze in confusion, looking at me without understanding.
Moments later, the wail of police sirens echoed in the distance.
His expression shifted instantly, his face turning ashen as he fell to the ground, his voice breaking with sobs.
“Amy… why?”
I carefully articulated each word, “Naturally, it’s because I despise you completely.”
Oliver ended up in prison, receiving a 15–year sentence.

As an accomplice, Jessica was also sentenced to eight years for her role in
the crimes.
I immersed myself in my new life, determined to leave the past behind.
After marrying, rather than depending on Damon, I founded my own company. It rapidly expanded into a major enterprise–rivaling the success once achieved by the Galley Group.
A decade later, I was invited to a private auction as a guest.
Oliver, recently released from prison, was working as a cleaner at the auction house.
He looked so much older that I barely recognized him–his skin was wrinkled, his back hunched, and several of his fingers were grotesquely deformed, as if he’d endured torture.
Jessica followed him with a vacant expression, her mental state seemingly shattered.
She could only giggle mindlessly and peer through the door crack into the

Oliver shook her off angrily, but she persistently followed him, staying close despite his beatings and curses.
As he tried to evade her, he suddenly locked eyes with me through the
door crack.
He froze, trembling as if struck by lightning.

I smiled, withdrew my gaze, and turned back to an antique on the auction stage. “I will place an unlimited bid on all items in this auction,” I said softly.
