In the high temperatures, the demand for water steadily increased. At first, we used water to wipe our bodies and cool down. Then the temperature just kept climbing. The blazing sun hung in the sky, as if it wanted to bake the earth dry. Our house felt like an oven, stiflingly hot and unbearable. Even sitting still, we’d be drenched in sweat, irritable and restless. The best way to cool down was to submerge ourselves in water. But we barely had enough water to drink; how could we bear to use it for bathing?
My condition worsened. I started feeling dizzy and weak all over. I longed to soak in cool water to clear my head. I took out the “Angel’s Tear” item, pinching, tapping, and shaking it for a long time, but nothing happened. They give you the item, but you have to figure out how to use it yourself! This dungeon is so cruel!
Just then, Ryker moved the bathtub over. He carried me into the tub. He brought out all the water we had left.
“We only have this much water. If we use it all for a bath, what will we do later?”
Ryker touched my burning forehead, frowning. “If you don’t cool down, you won’t make it.” I pulled his hand away. “One of us has to survive.”
“If only one of us can live, I want it to be you, Ryker said, holding me, his eyes reddening. We both knew that prolonged high temperatures could be fatal, and we had no more cooling supplies. Our hearts were heavy.
I gently wiped away Ryker’s tears. As his tears touched the item in my hand, a miraculous sight unfolded. The blue gemstone actually “cried.” Two curved streams of clear water, like a waterfall, poured forth, quickly filling the bathtub. We finally understood: the item needed tears to be
activated.
The weather was so hot that we spent our days soaking in the water to cool down, enjoying the rare comfort and coolness. Our spirits lifted. However, our supplies were almost exhausted.
